Brent Shay from South Detroit/Detroit area is an artist deeply rooted in the city's iconic techno and house scene. Influenced by the pulsating beats of Detroit techno and the underground vibes of Berlin techno. With a penchant for dark, banging techno infused with industrial and acid elements, Brent's sets are a sonic exploration of the underground cultures that shape his sound.

As a resident DJ at Fnoob Techno Radio in the UK and Features on Lineout Radio in Paris, Brent's weekly sets showcase his eclectic tastes, ranging from minimal techno to experimental bass.

Though he has yet to officially release his own productions, Brent's focus remains on honing his craft and delivering unforgettable sets that transport listeners to the gritty, industrial landscapes of Detroit's underground scene.

With his unwavering passion for techno and Detroit house music, Brent Shay continues to push boundaries and captivate audiences worldwide.

Incidents in Englewood

For this set I played on 4 CDJ 3000’s and a V10 mixer, using both of its internal effects processors. For every No Way Back set, and for most sets, I try to prepare new hardware remasters and edits of things that I think would be fascinating recontextualized in this setting. But for NWB, it is even more special, a peak moment, so I try to have new records I’m working on in the studio to test out. For this set that means the hardware mixes I’ve been working on for Torrvo and for Andy Toth can be tested, I’m working on this hardware mixing and remastering tone palate, so I spread that to some edits to give them a whole new power. Playing at No Way Back cannot be put into words, though we try every year, it really is inexplicable without experiencing it. It’s the environment you most want to be in, the space is totally transformed, the sound is dialed in, the audience is so ready, very giving and open, and the feedback you get is incredible. People are up for a ride – we start at the Tangent and end up going to the other side of the universe. Freedom within and without. There’s no place I’d rather be, so I thought I’d share this much sooner than we usually do. Enjoy the ride.

"The Invasion was David Moores first origional track released on the liquidbrain record label.  Geoffrey C did a hell of a Hard trible remix.  This track will make any dance floor jump today.  But dont take my word for it give it a spin lol.  the origional samples came from the first record David Moore released in Argentina in 1989 called "The Police"  and was used as the curtain for a TV program in Buenos Aires for over 2 years, and led to 2 albums being released in Argentina.  The Geoffrey C tribal mix was licenced to Ralphy Rosaria and was released on his "Garden of Eden" mixed cd.  The vinyl is out of print and hard to find.  I have seen the white lables on Ebay as high as $75. and the red lables as high as $50.
