Told from the perspective of a homeless person roaming the streets of modern metropolitan madness, the song displays singer Dennis’s unique story-telling capabilities in a spaghetti western-informed musical backdrop à la Lana Del Rey. A mysteriously captivating piece about love, loss and unbreakable hope, “Two Cents” paves the way for a line-up of new singles to be released in late 2019 / early 2020 on the band’s very own label “Original L Records”.

“Sergio’s Dream” is the new single by Berlin’s alt-pop favorites “Champyons”. A musical homage to the Italo disco-era and charged with the band’s signature punchy bassline groove, “Sergio’s Dream” is a melancholically captivating tale of immigration; a story about the hopes, ambitions and subtle disappointments of setting out and finding one’s luck in “promised lands” far away from home. Inspired by the great epics of Italian cinema à la “Once Upon a Time in America”, the song lyrically connects a classic topic of “expat” culture with present day political realities in the United States and around the world.

After self-releasing their first single “Roaming in Paris” in December 2014 and signing with Berlin based label Embassy of Music the year after, Champyons is gearing up for their first full-length release in early 2018, collaborating with renowned artist and sculptor Michael Sailstorfer.
