Howl's Moving Castle - Merry-Go-Round (Jazz Cover)

'Configurations' was an attempt a while back, which I extracted sounds that trigger my nerves. It draws influences from both classical and jazz, and finds itself to emulate video game music. I decide to make it a musical style of my own and wrote 'Configurations 2'.
The instrumentation consists of string quartet, wind quintet, piano and suspended cymbals. The slow movements are mostly homophonic with various voices interweaved, while the fast sections are grounded by a repetitive rhythmic pulse, transition with varied rhythm patterns. Harmonically, it largely uses jazz harmonies, the concepts of constant structure and altered cadence, plus a pint of neo-tonality. Each instrument showcases swift moving lines that resemble improvisation.
This piece aims to create a contemporary sound that can represent the 21st century music. The entire concept is basically painting a fantasy that I cannot put in words.
