I started this musical journey with the intention of Love. My first rave changed my life! The moment i heard electronic music i knew this was my calling. My goal is to share the same feeling i had that first time i felt the bass in my chest, and Inspire the coming generation to share the love, be creative, and follow your passion purely for what it is. Electronic music is a special thing, a universial language spoken by all. Ive learned and grown over the years & this playlist sums up my existence within the realm of electronic music.

The Dream About It EP came together in early 2023 when Perfect Driver's label head, Matthew Anthony, was on the
the paradisiacal island of Oahu playing for the legendary Dirty Feat Crew party at Hawaii's most underground venue, 
Aether.

The crew’s boss, Chance King (half big wave surfer and half dance music producer), graciously hosted Anthony for three
weeks on the world-famous North Shore, where they surfed, fished, hiked, and absorbed the island's spirit, natively
known as Mana.

This Mana manifested in the studio, where Matthew and Chance were energized to work on several tracks together,
forming a friendship along the way and culminating with this pivotal release. A release that certifies and celebrates the
return of the classic imprint, Perfect Driver Music.

An interesting story behind each track subconsciously adds power and mystery to a set when dropped on an
unsuspecting dancefloor. These stories are conveyed through lyrics and sound design, and both songs have been refined
extensively to work best during peak hours to reset the room while...naturally... melting faces.

Anthony's signature dark, bass-heavy, funk-routed drums, and twisted build-ups are complemented by ridiculously
massive synth drops by King and vocal work from a love-stricken man in "Dream About It," while Dier One participates
with his narration of blasting off from a beach in "Sunbeams."

I played a festival in Hawaii and Later that night i watched a live news broadcast of the city calling the festival an "Illegal rave"   and couldn't resist myself, i sampled the news broadcast and put them behind a slamming ravey bassline to create this track! Free DL!!!

ILLEGAL RAVE

Hawaii is my home and it always will be. It was awesome to finally make a song with hawaiian lyrics in it, ive had the idea for a long time and to see it come to life is amazing, I met up with a local Hawaiian vocalist Noelani Love, at that point i had only written the verse, she had the idea to sing the Hawaiian chant on the song and it turned out better than we had imagined it to be! 
     The Hawaiian chant (chorus) is asking for permission to enter a place with humility, This is one of the first Electronic music song's that features Hawaiian lyrics, so some viewed it as disrespectful to the culture to use the language in a non traditional way, but as times change and music continues to evolve, our goal with the song was to bridge the gap between the two and create harmony between cultures, as well as our two favorite types of music! Hawaiian & House!

Inspired by the fast paced movements of the ocean, This track is meant to capture the epic energy of Riding big waves and being out in extreme ocean conditions.

OUTER REEF - The "outer reef," as it is commonly referred to, grows from the ocean floor up, instead of out from a land base. These reef platforms can be up to a mile or more out to sea, where only during a certain size of swell, waves will break on these reef systems. During these rare occasions surfers can ride waves in the 40 foot plus range, as this is the size requried for the wave to break on the Outer Reef.

I decided to attempt to capture the experience of a barrel ride through sound, Pro Surfer & Friend Jamie O'Brien sent me a raw video of him riding a giant tube at  Backdoor Pipeline, i took the audio from his GoPro clip and used it as a sound effect in the song, the sound if the barrel comes in at 3:33 on "Outer Reef". 
And of course after sampling the sound of Pipeline, i had to get a wave there myself, the art is a photo of me taking off on the Outer Reef of pipeline. This is where i got the inspiration for the song!
