111X ‘Urge’

111X, the elusive prince of noise, returns to Changeless with his latest offering ‘Urge’.

Picking up where ’Shame’ left off, ‘Urge’ depicts the shift from collapse to confrontation, driven by the restless push-and-pull of one’s inner fire and crushing powerlessness. Compulsive resistance in the face of our inevitable fallibility. An ouroboros corporeal battle between necessity and yielding, vigour and weakness, progress and decay.

‘Urge’ is a reinvention of 111X’s signature harsh sonics, meshing it with brooding apocalyptic guitars and ephemeral fragile tranquility, with a familiar relentless weaving pulse at it’s core that’s all the more brutal with each return. The EP opens with ‘Avenge’, where the veil of monumental thrashing of fragmented rhythms slips for a brief moment that’s just long enough to catch a glimpse of the hurt behind it all. ‘Fragments Held Together By Pressure (Forgive)’ slows everything down to a halt, while soft melodies bleed through the noise like a memory echoing as it fades away, becoming more indistinct with every moment.

The EP’s turning point ‘Serrated Edge’ presents us with a completely new side of 111X; a meditative lullaby with bursts of noise that emerge throughout the track, meticulously designed to remain uneasy even in the softest moments. ‘Hunger / Wilt’ closes the record with it’s pounding drums and piercing feedback, before melting into a stunningly beautiful coda leaving us with more hope than when we had diving into ‘Urge’.

111X - Avenge

FLag is a song about a forbidden romance — a strange, spectral encounter between a girl and the ghost that, as if it were her own
body, inhabits the depths of a car. The narrative drifts between fantasy and the impossible, constructing a metaphor for a denied
freedom, turned delusion. FLag breathes life into what is lifeless. It summons a love story ungranted by the daylight's judgment —
one that unfolds inside a vehicle frozen in time, under the cover of night.
In FLag, Bella Báguena is a doll, a liminal figure, vanishing between the seats of a car. She is a witch who seduces and slips away,
playing with the inert presence of the vehicle like it were a spellbound lover, as if the car were an altar and the video a ritual.
She recites the line,
“it is so inanimate, so so inanimate”
— a phrase that paradoxically infuses life into a soulless object, turning it
into a container of her euphoria. The machine becomes a projection of the body itself. The chorus,
“The hair, my flag” is a hyped
proclamation of femme existence— through hair, through presence.
FLag becomes a love story ungranted by the logic of day — consummated only in the interior of a car stopped in time, and in the
darkness where fantasy is allowed to live.

〈Max Beirne Shafer * re-Awakening〉 : 'Soul—Is—A—Flower'

Josephine Moriko is in Sweden. innerinnerlife is in Poland. ‘Emociones / Prior’ is in the world, and out on New York City’s OST.

The dark balearia of ‘Emociones’ marries innerinnerlife’s warm, slowly unfurling synth pads to a yearning, autotuned Moriko vocal, swirling and swaying in the sultry riptide of the instrumental. It’s drama in slow motion, a heart-stopping moment caught and crystallised in memory, played and replayed again and again.

‘Prior’ walks a dimly lit route, white linen on a nighttime beach, inner turmoil by a romantic backdrop. Moriko’s coldly intoned vocals carry secrets and intrigue, whispering about longing and addiction over a flickering phantomscape. It haunts and hits in equal measure.

It’s a gripping statement piece from two artists with rare, idiosyncratic points of view and frames of reference. Two songs forged under candlelight and sculpted from afterglow. Two songs that hold a shadow world of style and seduction, passion and poison, black roses and green-eyed envy. Two songs made to transport. Two songs for you.

Safety Model - Hymnal

We’re very excited to unveil our latest signing Safety Model and their debut EP Hymnal!

“The red pours from the blue, as we remain luminous, forever scorching under the light.”

‘Hymnal’ is a series of hymns, simultaneously heavy but weightless, empty yet filled with light, each carrying its distinct sensory color. Dedicated to friends and the self, and guided by four meditative but disconcerting pieces, Safety Model takes us on a journey through the kaleidoscopic gauge of existence as life’s forces press, lift, and shake the body and mind.

The EP opens with ‘Point Blank’, closest in proximity to one’s truest essence. Enveloping sounds lull you into their embrace as brittle mechanical textures weave in and out, provoking the senses into fight or flight. Capturing the moment of waking to the self, magnifying the friction between shock and surrender, between fight and acquiescence, the body registers that which cannot be registered. Loss of memories, of love, of life, of self. Point Blank is represented by the color yellow.

‘Feathers (City)’ is the sonic incarnate of colossal yet fragile brutalist spaces; dusty basements that collapse into expansive cityscapes, perpetually decomposing and reassembling through the hymn’s aural extremes. Grounded, heavy textures are interwoven with waves of gauzy synths like wings; harshness and violence meet subtle femininity, reflecting the tension of the inescapable sensory burden of urban life. ‘Feathers (City)’ is represented by the color red.

‘Where The Lights Don’t Fall, They Press Down Instead’ is the moment of light intruding on the inner self, when even closed eyelids cannot shield the soul. A forced reflection, abstraction as touch, emulating the sense of brightness pressing down. An intimate ballad with operatic falsetto vocals accompanied by levitating resonances of rusted tone, offering a glimpse into the future of Safety Model. Where The Lights Don’t Fall, They Press Down Instead is represented by the color green.

‘Fall Of Self’ is the final acceptance: the scattered memories don’t and won’t matter. With its stretched strings ringing for an indiscernible duration, suspending time through a seemingly endless crescendo, ‘Fall Of Self’ serves as the temporal counterpart to ‘Point Blank’. A hymn to safety, endurance, and reflection. ‘Fall Of Self ‘is represented by the color blue.
