California Reggae turned upside down and transformed into a Psychedelic Dada Disco Dance Party...  Dance The Night Away features instrumental elements from 'Guidance' by Soul Majestic, as well as vocals from 'Back In The Day' and  'Reckless.'  Saritah makes a guest appearance with a sample from 'Tears Of Joy.'  Go check those artists out here on soundcloud and at other streaming services (and performing live!) This is a Boombap remix of California Reggae.  Big Up Soul Majestic 'Dub It Out' is from their album Setting The Tone.  This Remix was inspired by the Better Together Tour with Saritah.  Big Up D. Lyons on the main guitar riff sample in there.  Dig through the crates and listen for where it all came from.  I dig the idea of taking so many seemingly disparate pieces of music and reblending them into a whole new context.  Enjoy

I wanted to make a One Drop reggae tune using only samples and a breakbeat/ 'get down' style of production.  There's another killer sample from Soul Majestic on here.  In this case 'Blue Mountain'....  See if you can spot the other samples used...  I really tried to take small snippets and take them out of context and really flip them into a new creation.

Random Remix of Cher Lloyd's 'I Wish' feat. T.I.  This was part of the larger scrap art project known as The Starseed REMixtape.  Audio Collage art.  Is it possible to remix an Xfactor contestant over old Weather Report (the Miroslav era!), Charlie Mingus, Lonnie Liston and other deep cut classics?  In a way, it's a study in Art vs. Commercialism, and also just a manic-phase remix.  Congratulations to Cher Lloyd on her new baby.
