In the early-mid 1980's I was in a break dancing crew called "Crew77" and I remember doing a sponsored 12hr LIVE AID Dance-off that was every now and then shown nationally during the live broadcast which the whole 80's era of hip-hop/Electro/Funk & soul was the most mind absorbing time for me as I would be mixing via the Ghettoblaster cassette deck and 1 belt driven turntable mixing my favourite Streetsounds Electro Crucial Albums with songs from Grand Central Station and working out how the Soul Sonic Force, UTFO, Roxanne Shante, Grand Master Melle Mel, Sugar Hill Gang, Herbie Hancock, Captain Rock, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five and so many other ground breaking artists and groups, came about to create such amazing Electro/Hip-Hop as i was hooked and still cant resist listening to classics like... Whitelines Dont Do It/Party People/Breakers Revenge/Beatstreet Breakdown & not forgetting the huge song by Chaka khan .. " I Feel For You " which featured Turbo & Ozone from the Breakdance Film. Now in the 2020's its time for me to bring out some Electro that has a modern edge to it but the styles of the flow in the songs are almost the same and to me its great to see the new generations appreciate true Electro and not the cross overs that are around nowadays.... so hope this gives you more of an insight to why I create electro and often a song like this I generally can have finished an online within 60 minutes.

An adventurous, creative soul with a penchant for captivating storytelling, Chantelle Willow Spirit is a singer/songwriter, artist, and poet.  Her music ranges from vast instrumental soundscapes to highly poetic observations.  Chantelle has spent years honing her craft, studying the art of music theory, and embracing her love of language.  As a result, she is now ready to share her creations with the world in the form of her debut album, ‘Of Love & Dreams.’

Chantelle began her artistic pursuits at a young age.  Influenced by everything from Aboriginal American spirituals to classical music, she built up vast playlists including Brymo, Anita Baker, Enya, Sade, Art of Noise, Maxwell, Enigma, Annie Lennox, and KAMAL.  By combining her favorite elements of all these sounds, she began developing her own whimsically eclectic style. 

In 2016, Chantelle began releasing her first tracks on SoundCloud.  Her imaginative sounds quickly began to garner attention, winning her a small but devoted group of listeners.  In the ensuing years, she continued to build on her sound, focusing mostly on instrumental tracks that push the boundaries of the genre.  

Recently, she has begun to show the world another side of her artistry.  Having been fascinated with the magic of language for years, she has naturally begun to integrate poetry and lyricism within her music.  Combined with a drop dead gorgeous singing voice, the resulting music is uplifting and expressive, capable of speaking directly to the hearts of her listeners.  

"I can reach a multitude and be experienced without a word,” she says, “and when I speak, to only a few, I can be heard.”

This quote sums up everything that makes Chantelle an artist worth discovering.  Ambitious, empathetic, and curious, her music is sure to be welcomed by open-hearted listeners around the world.
