I would later have many life experiences that would remind me of this song over the years and thought it was past time for me to make my own version. My first pass at a one take studio recording of Gary Allen's "The One"

This one was recorded for my one and only MOMMA. Today (the day of upload) marks her 61st. birthday and her 19th anniversary follows in 3 days. When my Step Dad started dating my mom when I was barely a teenager, I recorded a music video for them to this song. It was one of their absolute favorites and every time I hear it I think of them and the Love they show each other and the ones around them. I am so very grateful to have such a great example of what it looks like to walk through life with dignity and grace and I am so proud to call my Mom, well MOM! Thank you will never cover what she has done for me in all aspects of my life, but I hope this is one of many small gifts to remind her how much she means to me! This one, even more than all the others, is for you Momma and I love you most! And thank you to each and every one of you who has joined my journey to this point. I can't wait to see where life takes me next!

This was a tough one, indeed. My father passed away about a month before starting to record this, but really felt compelled to do so. For those of you who know me, my relationship with my father was not always easy. But I do know I love him so much and he loved me too. Reflecting over the last few weeks about all of the times we had, I have found it hard to put into words just how I feel. As usual, speaking thru music has been and will hopefully continue to be very healing. I am so grateful for the time I had with my father and cannot wait to see him again one day. I love you Dad.

For any of you who knows me personally, this was a very tough one to record. Addiction and Alcoholism run very deep in much of my family (including myself) and I currently am in the thick of another such "struggle". My mom (God bless her) suggested I sing this weeks ago, but today was the day to sit down and finally do it. Really happy with how it turned out, even if I am still not where I want to be on the editing side of things :). I have had the feeling this song describes more than once in my life and for some reason today was the day to try recording it. If you are new to my SoundCloud, most of the tracks I record are done in "one take", meaning I record my vocal all the way through and when I get a full vocal I am happy with, I use it. This means lots of imperfections and hiccups, but I decided I wanted to display those. I often find myself connecting more when an artist allows themselves t show a flaw or two in order to get their passion across, and that is what I hope to achieve whenever possible. Each note resonates in a way that just feels like something I was meant to sing...hard to describe unless you have felt that yourself , and if you have then congrats you are among a rare few of us who can enjoy the gift of music unabated :)

This was a very tough one to record. I sang this in public for the first time with 3 friends of mine on the steps of our school for a friend of ours memorial who died in a car wreck. Needless to say life hasn't been any easier in that department and this year I lost my best friend. I managed to hold it together long enough to make a good attempt at this song, to, and hope you can enjoy despite a hiccup or two toward the end as I got a bit chocked up. We often listened to Josh Groban on the way home from a football practice or home after school. I have always appreciate talented singer, especially when they do things I can't figure out how to do myself. It is so fascinating to me and, thus, Mr. Groban has always been on that short list.
