日常生活中，我們的腦袋常常在理性思考和淺意識訊息之間穿梭，東方的禪學，總是強調要仔細觀照自己來去的思緒，這也是一種趣味不是嗎？此曲以音樂呈現這樣的概念，雖是純電聲作品，卻將電聲分成兩種，一種是管弦樂器的 MIDI，一種是自然界的聲音。然則，不同於真正的管弦樂，此曲運用粒子合成器和 morphing 的技術，將管弦樂的器樂以調色盤的方式混聲，形成介於兩者樂器之間的漸變音色，例如小提琴和銅管的漸變混合音色等。而樂音與自然界聲音亦採用此方式，將二種聲音素材作音色漸變，例如定音鼓漸變至雷聲、笛聲漸變至水壺的笛聲等。以形成非物質世界所含的聲響，來體現來去不可捉摸的理性與淺意識之交會的思緒。

In our daily life, our brains are often filled with logical thoughts and sub-conscious messages. Zen or meditations from the eastern world, always emphasizes the importance of “watching” our thoughts in our mind.  Doing meditation and observing our mind, it’s fun, isn’t it? 

This work presents this concept of merging from logical thoughts and sub-consciousness. Although this is an electronic music, the timbre is divided into two different kinds: one is the orchestral MIDI, the other is the natural sound (musique concrète). However, unlike real orchestral music, this work uses particle synthesizers and morphing techniques to mix orchestral instrumental music to mimic a color palette to form gradient tone colors between instruments, such as gradient mixed timbre between violin and brass. 

The sound of music and nature are also operated by this method, for example, gradient mixed timbre between timpani and thunder sound, flute and the kettle whistle, and so on. Therefore, this work creates sound sonorities from the unreal, or nonphysical world, and reflects the intersection between the logical thoughts and the sub-conscious messages.

all music recorded as played by john eckhardt on bass guitar & live electronics. this piece is composed from 14 individual loops (many of them containing several layers) for a room sound installation in Nov. 2017's Re:Store photo exhibition in Moscow, Russia. In addition, each of these loops was audible separately on headphones with the corresponding photographs of Nikolay Biryukov.

Chao-Ming Tung is a Taiwanese-born composer and gu-zheng player (Chinese zither) based in Cologne, Germany. His music encompasses stage, instrumental, vocal, and electro-acoustic works, and multimedia-performances with visual arts and dance.  Since 2000 he has gradually incorporated Chinese instruments into his music, and improvises with gu-zheng and live electronics in concerts. 

Tung’s work has been presented in concerts of numerous festivals throughout Europe, Asia, and the USA.  He has collaborated with choreographers, dancers, painters, musicians, ensembles, sound-, media- and video artists, e.g. Annegret Heiln, René Pieters, Bernhard Gal, Klang Forum Wien, Ensemble Ictus, Ensemble Modern, ensemble 2e2m, Ensemble On-Line Vienna , ensemble DEDALO, and China Found Music Workshop Taipei.
He was awarded the Bernd Alois Zimmermann Scholarship for Composers from the City of Cologne in 1999, the Scholarship of National Culture and Arts Foundation Taiwan in 2001 and Stipendium of Villa Aurora Los Angles 2004. From 2006 – 2007 , he was  composer in residence of China Found Music Workshop Taipei. Since 2007, he teaches composition at the Ciao Tung University in Taiwan.
