Here is my new take on the M. Bison theme which featured on the SYNTH FIGHTERS album by 30th Floor records.

Flynn is my homage to the first Tron film and its soundtrack. With basic structure and 80s heavy influence.

Console Crusaders are back once again - this time to kick your ass back to the early 90s to join them on a nostalgia trip to some of the most badass video games ever to be unleashed on our teenage minds! This is, Synthality!

Following on from the huge success of their 'Synths of Rage' (bit.ly/1d4NyKm), and 'Synth Fighters' (bit.ly/1fYX57m) albums, the collective have now focussed their talents on recreating the unforgettable music from the original Mortal Kombat trilogy. Originally composed and produced by Dan Forden, the music was unlike anything we'd heard in a video game up to that time. Darker than what our 8-bit and 16-bit video gaming sensory palettes were used to, the sounds took us deep into a foreboding world of certain doom, as we prepared to do battle with some of the toughest fighters we'd ever been face to face with.

Featuring 22 tracks by a collective of incredible electronic producers, we present each track in the order of stages as they appeared throughout each game. As with all Console Crusaders works, these are not simply cover versions, these are full blown reinterpretations according to each artist's unique sound and vision.

Go ahead, test your might!!

The Grid. A place where data and information is represented as a simulated reality. Each user has their own program and due to the users creating these programs they regard their users with deific status.
Under the influence of a new power-hungry artificial intelligence, the programs are being coerced into losing faith in the users.
It would take a new type of program to alter this balance of power and re-take the grid for the good of the programs and their users. With the aid of a mysterious entity claiming to be a user who has been put into the system, perhaps there is hope.
All will be settled on….The Grid.

When I first saw the film Tron, I was completely mesmerised! It was as if watching the film had switched on a new part to my brain. The colours, the sounds, the landscapes; it all meshed together perfectly. Everything seemed possible in this computer based world.

The album as a whole is designed to work almost as an alternative soundtrack to the original film. With the names of each track providing some sort of ‘CLU’ to what part of the film it was made for.

I’ve made songs with a Tron based sound to them before for a compilation album (Flynn Pt I & II) and although the project went well I still felt I had more to explore. Thus the idea for a complete album of purely my own work was born.
Whilst making the album i tried to use a lot of modular based instruments when making this album, and all of these were vst based. This is of course a huge homage to Wendy Carlos who used primarily modular synths for the original score of Tron.
