I'd say that European conservative parties are generally more reactionary on social issues, but the GOP is much further right economically. I'd also recommend splitting Texas at least in two, separating the southwestern Dem block from the rest of it, if not five. that said, this whole conversation about gerrymandering just for any Democrats is pretty cringe-inducingly liberal.

What was ultimately unlistenable about this episode was listening to 3 clearly smart guys who acted for 50-60 minutes like the modern dem party has ANY interest in being a party that fights this way.  Just naive and weird to listen to this.

I rly don't want Texas to be the biggest state though, that just doesn't make any fucking sense to me.

dems in office now do not care about preserving democracy. they care about preserving politics as usual and that is why they do nothing. "what are you afraid of?" a left democrat party, that's what. politics where money does not control everything.

agree 100%, making the electoral process more proportional with ranked voting or something similar is a concept ive touted for years, but the idea that a Democratic government would ever do this is crazy. they stand to lose out almost as much as the GOP if they open the door to a third or fourth party, that would allow their left-progressive wing off the leash. that is not what the DNC is for, its there as a stumbling block for said leftists and progressives
