Hospital Records proudly present the third instalment of their fresh ‘Ultrasounds’ release series which shines a spotlight on some of the most exciting artists outside of the NHS roster - with the extremely talented DJ and producer Anaïs continuing the streak for Volume 3!  It’s already been a huge year for Anaïs, following a consistent slew of packed-out club & festival bookings, the release of her debut ‘Badgyal’ EP on Deep In The Jungle Records and landing a spot on Hospital Records’ 2022 Women In Drum & Bass mentorship. Keep it locked and mark 4th November 2022 in your diary as one of Bristol’s finest talents is set to ignite the scene with her killer four-track EP on Hospital!

Anaïs kicks things off with ‘Tek It Easy’ alongside Red Fox and Formula - an immaculate drum & bass stomper fuelled with a rumbling bassline and heavy-duty vocals. The crystal clear production lays the perfect groundwork for dancehall & reggae artist Red Fox to pepper the track with his standout performance. Keep an eye out for the dancehall mix of the also available as the last track on ‘Ultrasounds Vol. 3’.

On ‘Blackout’, Anaïs teams up with fellow Bristol-based producer Teezy as they craft up a deep, dark and minimal mind-warper home to falsetto vocal chops and a healthy dose of mangled bass injections. The ruthless sound of the next gen is here, and its vibe is undeniable!

Delving further into her versatile production skillset, Anaïs draws for a switch up taking listeners to eerie soundscapes, techy breakbeats and a hypnotising build-up of crescendoing percussions on the final EP track ‘End Ya’. Yet another track destined to cause chaos on the dance floor.

Another Dream EP’ marks another flip up in style for this versatile artist, this time focussing on jungle and hardcore-influenced stylings. The EP opens with the tribal ‘Howler Monkey (Another Dream)’, a feverish and mystical stepper straight out of the Amazon, where Think breaks collide with tribal drums, booming sub bass and eerie chanting vocals.

Joint label owner and long-time friend Rome joins Moakz for his first release on the label ‘Cosmic Explosion’, flipping things into a different direction again, full of deep and dubby organic goodness, with rumbling reeces, brass stabs, strings and metallic tones keeping things rolling nicely.

The EP continues with ‘Back To The Earth’, with Moakz once again stepping things out with a deep vibe, as soulful vocals cry “Who’s To Blame?” whilst powerful drums criss-cross with technical malfunctions.

Things draw to a close with the post-hardcore vibes of ‘Gotta Take It Easy’, which mashes cinematic strings, haunting vocals, 303s, gorgeous rhodes, dubby bass and rolling breaks into an inventive closure to the EP.

The very definition of a legend, Mampi Swift has been involved in the drum & bass scene since the early 90’s. It was in 1990 that Swift started DJing and found himself behind the counter of Lucky Spin records. With access to the studio next door and an in-house engineer, Swift jumped at the valuable opportunity to start learning how to produce. Releases soon started filtering out with labels like Suburban Base, True Playaz, Trouble On Vinyl & Frontline all taking tracks.
 
1997 saw the launch of Charge Recordings, and a slur of releases that saw him rise meteorically to the top of the DnB tree. With the release of ‘The One’, Swift became a household name and he showed no signs of slowing up, following that up with the likes of ‘Hi Tek’, ‘Touch Of J’, ‘Jaws’ and ‘Trippin’. The label went from strength to strength and has since seen releases from Fresh, Friction, Blame, Sigma, Gridlok and more.
 A pioneer of the double drop style of DJing alongside Andy C, his unmistakeable presence behind the decks has formed the back bone of many a line up from the UK to the States and everywhere in between. A true originator he has influenced and shaped the scene like few others.
 
After a couple of years out, Mampi Swift & Charge Recordings are back in the biggest way. With his latest releases gaining support from the likes of Andy C, MistaJam, Friction, Hype, Crissy Criss & Bailey. Tracks such as 'Gangster', 'Soldiers' & 'The Silence' have been destroying dance floors worldwide! Fast forward to Autumn 2013 and surely a career highlight for Swift as his monstrous remix of Dizzee Rascal's 'I Dont Need A Reason' took his profile to another level. The track was featured heavily on both mainstream & underground radio, and was critically acclaimed to be "The most most disgusting slice of D&B in the last 5 years!" - Zane Lowe.

With an international tour commencing in the first half of the year and a brand new studio to work in as well as exciting solo projects and inspiring collaborations lined up.  Expect big things in the future - There is so much more to come including a brand new roster of incredible Charge artists.
