Conrad Subs has been on fire with many releases spanning across labels such as Soulvent Records, Deep In The Jungle Records, Nuusic, Symmetry Recordings, Ram Records, LionDub International, Liquid V and Dread Recordings just to name a few.  Formation Records is proud to present ‘Temple EP’. Compromised of 5 blistering tracks that are an essential part of every DJs arsenal. 

Kicking off the EP with the title track ‘Temple’, this is a deep and dark and stomper. 
With a promising introduction comprised mainly of lonely high hats and distant vocal chants, we are quickly reaching the first drop to be hit in the face with a blasting rolling bass. 

The second track, ‘Like No One Before’, is infused with soul through the slow and steady introduction. With the powerful drum section emerging into the drop, and a warping well produced bass there is a serious presence within ‘Like No One Before’. 

‘Slab’ is a track with real attitude. With the drop on this track comprised of a masterful drum beat that will be ringing in listeners ears and a pumping bass that adds the depth to the track. 

The penultimate track, ‘Blunt Edge’, is uniquely deep and clinical as Conrad Subs continues his production mastery, with another salacious drumbeat leading the charge with a naughty bass warping throughout.

As we come to the final track of the EP, Conrad Subs take you back to the 90’s with the jungle roller ‘Chow Down’. Filled with rapid breakbeats, heavily syncopated percussion, and deep basslines, this one is for the hard-core ravers.

JDNB Premiere - You Heard It Here First!

No stranger to the scene, up next we have a totally wicked 5 track debut solo EP from Berlin based Japanese prolific producer & DJ, Tomoyoshi.

Tomoyoshi - Listen:- Starting off with a down riser and filtering wobbles, the short intro doesn't keep you waiting long for the drop. When it hits it's pure rolling drums and deep bass, you'll be drawing for this every set.

Tomoyoshi - Approach:- Straight into track two we have this vibing number. Starting off with a soulful, funky intro and tight, crisp drums. Moving forward with a classic style bass riff, notice the mesmerizing sheen on the snare drum and the second drop, proper vibes!

Tomoyoshi - Back In The Dayz:- The EP's title track is absolutely off the hook and you could say it is a nod to the Full Cycle, V Recordings and Philly Blunt labels. Expect hypnotising pads, stepping drums, distorted 808s, wob basses and classy ear candy... Back in the dayz!

Tomoyoshi - Emptiness Is Form:- Opening up with a half time intro break laced with catchy pads and the bass and beats filtering in, when the alluring subs arrive they are hitting hard like a train.

Tomoyoshi - Bad:- Last but definitely not least, bad enters with a really eerie soundscape and distorted guitar like sounds, filtering drums which take you through to the drop. Followed by a bassline that will have you pulling your best bass face! Definitely not one to show your Nan.

The very definition of a legend, Mampi Swift has been involved in the drum & bass scene since the early 90’s. It was in 1990 that Swift started DJing and found himself behind the counter of Lucky Spin records. With access to the studio next door and an in-house engineer, Swift jumped at the valuable opportunity to start learning how to produce. Releases soon started filtering out with labels like Suburban Base, True Playaz, Trouble On Vinyl & Frontline all taking tracks.
 
1997 saw the launch of Charge Recordings, and a slur of releases that saw him rise meteorically to the top of the DnB tree. With the release of ‘The One’, Swift became a household name and he showed no signs of slowing up, following that up with the likes of ‘Hi Tek’, ‘Touch Of J’, ‘Jaws’ and ‘Trippin’. The label went from strength to strength and has since seen releases from Fresh, Friction, Blame, Sigma, Gridlok and more.
 A pioneer of the double drop style of DJing alongside Andy C, his unmistakeable presence behind the decks has formed the back bone of many a line up from the UK to the States and everywhere in between. A true originator he has influenced and shaped the scene like few others.
 
After a couple of years out, Mampi Swift & Charge Recordings are back in the biggest way. With his latest releases gaining support from the likes of Andy C, MistaJam, Friction, Hype, Crissy Criss & Bailey. Tracks such as 'Gangster', 'Soldiers' & 'The Silence' have been destroying dance floors worldwide! Fast forward to Autumn 2013 and surely a career highlight for Swift as his monstrous remix of Dizzee Rascal's 'I Dont Need A Reason' took his profile to another level. The track was featured heavily on both mainstream & underground radio, and was critically acclaimed to be "The most most disgusting slice of D&B in the last 5 years!" - Zane Lowe.

With an international tour commencing in the first half of the year and a brand new studio to work in as well as exciting solo projects and inspiring collaborations lined up.  Expect big things in the future - There is so much more to come including a brand new roster of incredible Charge artists.
