17 DEC 2020 As of today, the loss of life in the US due to COVID is 308,000 souls. This is the same as if everyone in the town I grew up in, Austin, Texas, in 1974, died in a timeframe of 9 months. 

So much sadness and heartache. River is the only Christmas song that makes sense.
