An etude originally written for two guitars but here rendered on a Joannah.  It had a sister piece called Sunrise over Karuda which has somehow morphed into Severn Sunrise.

Addicted To Your Fire

An odd song - it's a complete work-in-progress.  It's finished in so far as I've managed to get.  There may be more changes and when I've finished those, it'll be complete again - subject to further amendment.

In the spirit of all of the songs here, the corpse is very much a metaphoric device and not a literal dead chap.

String Theory

Another recently-unearthed recording from Ickham in Kent, 2011.  One of Mechromantix' most funktastic moments.

This is a musical paradox - a relatively short (for us) and very melodic, catchy and singable song but the story is of someone watching events unfold as they are buried alive.  It's all part of the musical concept called The Wicker Man (nothing to do with the film of the same name), a tale of murder and revenge set in Shropshire during the Industrial Revolution - c 1770.

Tanja has excelled herself with a wonderful vocal.  I can't get that melody out of my head.

Lessons In Hyphenation

This composition started life as a bass riff for a progressive rock group and it's been through various incarnations before emerging in this form as a piece for orchestra.  Although it was not part of the plan, there is an Irish musical reference, a nod to friends in Ireland and to Ireland itself.

As the name suggests, there are more parts to follow - parts 6 onwards, in fact.  I'm not sure when these will materialise, we'll just have to see what time is available to pursue those ideas.

When It's Not Pimms O'Clock (Parts 1 to 5)

Due to the vulgar intrusion of work I now seem to be a solo composer/guitarist, although I continue to collaborate with old band-mates and anyone else interested enough to do so.  I tend to write music in a broadly progressive style - which means anything is possible.  I used to write using Reason 6 but have migrated to Logic Pro on a Mac due to its' better production capabilities.

Having lived in East Kent for 7 years I now found a move likely as a result of a lack of work in the area, hence my changed circumstances and - for the moment at least - my absence from a band.
