‘Ostgut Ton | Fünfzehn + 1’ is a commemorative compilation celebrating 16 years of Ostgut Ton – and the first glimpses of light at the end of a long dark tunnel for parent club Berghain.

Originally planned for release in 2020, the music focuses on the interwoven nature of the label and the club in its multitude of different spaces and musical facets. Ostgut Ton artists and close affiliates worked together in pairs to make music dedicated to five different floors, each represented by a specific 12" vinyl. The result is a diverse selection of sometimes functional, other times more abstract sonic tributes; musical homages to spaces they have both influenced and been influenced by.

With the pandemic having forced the club to close temporarily, the collaborative nature of the 5x12" boxset represents an attempt to transcend varying degrees of isolation and to wrestle with memories of music and space that had been inaccessible. But certainly not forgotten.

The noises were echoing and reverberating down the hall - it was dark as he moved slowly past each room glancing inside to see if they might be the source of the strange and mysterious sounds. There was a fog which lingered in the air and the floor was sticky beneath. This was the spot all right.

Shadows moved passed him in the corridor, dark faces illuminated only by the occasional flicker and flash of lights from somewhere up above.

This was the sort of place that his parents had warned him about, the sort of place which stank of trouble. Perhaps that was what he had been looking for all along...

DEEWEE is always a force to be reckoned with. Leftfield dance music drawing from a sprawling array of influences make up the tapestry of this unique and innovative record label. Phillipi is a musician who has featured prominently on the label previously and now returns with a new EP which showcases a mixture of Proto - House, EBM and Slo-Mo sounds.

Wandering through the twilight, he looked up at the moon so very far away and wondered what it might be like to soar. He had always dreamt of careering through the clouds, beyond into the darkness so as to escape from the chaos and strife of the world down here below. It would be ever so magic.

He wondered what others would think of his wild, reckless fantasies. What would they think of his strange longing to leave it all behind? Would they think he was crazy or bewildered...

In the distance he saw a flyer framed in a shop window. It was illuminated by a faint, flickering glow.

Michal Turtle is an esteemed and well renowned figure in leftfield, experimental music having been releasing material for some 40 odd years. Now Invisible Inc. have the privilege of releasing a record titled 'Same Songs, Different Room'. A record comprised of material reimagined and remastered, from the ground up. Based in Zurich (Switzerland), Idealist already produces music for more than a decade. But only in the previous five years he took the next steps and signed tracks to labels like Echocord, Pro-Tez and Berg Audio and focused on building up his own imprint Idealistmusic with its sublabel Details Series. Both of which gained him wide international recognition. In September 2016, Idealist released his anticipated debut album „Firewood Street“, a deep manifestation of the sound of his earlier tracks which might invoke vivid memories of dance music's glorious past in between Robert Hood, Basic Channel and some unpolished Chicago roughness.
The recent success and attention lead him to gigs across Europe, Canada, US and Georgia, where he played in clubs like Tresor, Batofar, or the Culture Box and shared the decks with DJs like Delano Smith or Fred P.

On his new EP ‘1972’, veteran producer and live musician @Tobias-Freund offers up four tracks of layered and meticulously-crafted techno using his extensive archives of tape recordings collected since childhood. Referencing a mix of profound political events in Germany history and esoteric meditation guides, the Berghain resident's warm, detailed sound edges beyond the floor toward brain-tingling home listening and wanderlust autobahn escapism.

The EP begins with the titles track’s buzzing synths panning rhythmically across the stereo field like a hypnotist’s pocket watch, while a somber, sampled string melody pushes further into cosmic territory before concluding with a bi-lingual eulogy. “Schism” soars with a never-ending snare roll and sparse kicks – an entire track floating on a break that never lands. On “The Wisdom Of No Escape”, Freund combines soft, polyrhythmic bleeps with esoteric vocal samples on an infinite inward path of hallucinogenic self-discovery. EP closer “Electric Storm” makes a turn for the ultrastoned, with hats and writhing vocals disintegrating and reforming over a soft, round steady pulse.
