In 2015 I was travelling from Edinburgh, down to London with my Mother and her good friend John, and we stopped in a town called Hexham to spend the night at an Air Bnb. I was 18, and not legal to drink in Canada, so I was taking advantage of being able to while I was in the UK, so I went for a walk to find a pub in Hexham. I can't remember the name of the pub now, but I walked in and they were having an open mic night. I knew I should go up but I was nervous, so I had a pint of beer and asked the bar tender who was in charge of the open mic. He walked me over to a guy at a table with lots of folks sitting around and told him that I wanted to get up and play a couple tunes. The man in charge said that the line up was full but he could squeeze me in for 3 songs if I went up right now. So I drank the last of my beer, and he gave me a guitar and I played the only 3 songs I had written at the time, Foolish Things, For Me, and lastly Decade. Decade has always been a song that has been powerful for me to play, and I know it is one of my Mother's favourites so I recorded it on my phone to show my mom when I got back to our Air Bnb. This is that recording, and I hope you enjoy listening as a buzzed 18 year old me rambles on about being sad and then finally sings his song.

this one goes out to my inner child, who is still healing and learning to love himself. it's a cover of "Let It Be" by the Beatles. It was my favourite song when I was a little kid, and I made this for him.
