16 years ago in basements and bedroom studio’s in south London, a new sound was born….
Mala was part of the music revolution which came to be known as ‘dubstep'.

DMZ, the label was created and 1 year later a bi-monthly event at Brixton’s Mass began.
Both label and event became pillars of the dubstep scene.
A scene built on dub-plates and vinyl only productions. played on heavyweight sound systems.

16 years later, Mala has decided to re-issue his back catalogue digitally for the 1st time.

All tracks have been re-mastered by the original engineer: Jason @ Transition Mastering, and still sound as heavy, warm & timeless as the initial vinyl only releases.

Founder of Quake event series in Omaha and Harvest HiFi Soundsystem, Snake Blood kicks off the mix with a grip of original material before exploring the sonic landscape of the dubstep genre via some of the hottest names in the game!  Was in town for a show the night before and one of the support artists (Mantra Sounds) came down with a sickness and could not make it in for her performance so I was asked if I could fill in and I was more than happy to! Big shout out to Sioux Sound Collective, Josh Teed, the Reverb Lounge, the sound engineer for making that L'acoustics system sound extra amazing, and everyone involved in making this night happen. The crowd brought the energy! It's official -- Omaha loves UKG! 

This set was 100% freestyle as I did not think I would have played another set while in Omaha, despite that, I'm always prepared with a bunch of originals and flips of my own as well as a good selection of others tunes.

Audio straight from the mixing board and video on my Go Pro 12 with a UltraWide Max Lens Mod. Edited in capcut and mixed in audio from go pro mic which happened to pic the crowd up nicely.
