“Where Lonely Lives” is the first single to be released by Songs From The Road Band off of their upcoming 7th studio album due out summer of 2024.  The hard driving bluegrass song was written by Charles Humphrey III and frequent collaborator and bluegrass master Darren Nicholson.  Mandolinist Mark Schimick handles the lead vocal in this lonesome tale of life’s ups and downs.  Gabe Epstein’s rock solid banjo playing is ever present throughout the entire track.  Guitarist Sam Wharton and fiddler James Schlender handle the harmony vocals, while Humphrey holds down the low end.  Coming off a 3 month summer tour of the US, the band couldn’t be more thrilled to share new music with the DJ’s and radio listeners!

Where Lonely Lives

“Green Garland” is the second single to be released by Songs From The Road Band off of their upcoming 7th studio album.  “Green Garland” is an original Christmas song just in time for the holidays.  Mark Schimick delivers a heartfelt lead vocal while Sam Wharton and James Schlender provide rich harmonies. The song takes the listener on a stroll down memory lane of holidays past.  The tune evokes emotions of love and joy that occur when families travel from far and near to be together and celebrate.  Gabe Epstein tastefully decorates the song with his banjo while Charles Humphrey wraps a bow on the performance with his bass work.  One of the highlights of the song is 2 time national fiddle champion, James Schlender’s beautiful solo during the outro.  The song was written by Charlie Chamberlain, Brew Davis, and Charles Humphrey III and recorded at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, NC.

“Standing out on the field at a festival in Florida, I thought about how perfect everything was. The moon out, campfires glowing and smelling so good, and music pouring off the stage swirling around the trees and loyal listeners. My former boss Larry Stephenson has a little saying whenever we would head towards a festival: “Get Me Where I’m Going!” So thankful to have co-written with my friends Charles Humphrey III and Tommy Mahar.”
