Four musicians awake in a dream. They find themselves playing together a kind of music they have never heard before. The musicians are from different backgrounds and each one of them attempts to recall their own musical tradition. However their memories have become blurred, indistinct; like trying to see a forest through densely falling snow.

- these are ferns - brittle yesterday but now green - moist - wombed by river´s pulse - remembering - rivering - strings or sinews - strung over a tortoise carapace - and pluck while river laughs, creeps on all fours - surrounds - guides fingers - meandering - fingering - until new sound - the millet stalk - flies over - an impatient bird´s wings. dipping over river - collecting, sifting - becomes a fish - outfishes - my fingers on the sinews, taught membrane - teaches spider´s patience - a  dissolving of sun - unquenching of an injured friend - encircled by ferns - nurtured - millet stalk becomes bird again - alights on two stilted legs - pulse within - sepia eyed from across the river - stared within - gradually lost inside of dry tree´s heart - nest of ferns - within - blurred and forever beating.
