I do what I can (Patty Kay Remix)

I did this remix for Techno Therapy records, which will be released on all platforms 20th June. I loved the strings sample from the original track so it wasn't a hard mix to work on, I just built what I thought worked best around that one part, and this is the result. Hope you like it! Ps I think there's a vinyl for the release to, but whether or not this mix features on there I don't know.

Nils Hoffmann - Storms

For their latest and perhaps boldest release, Zone have called up the legend Arnaud Rebotini for a new EP called 'Danger Zone'. Not only has the Black Strobe extraordinaire served up four intricate, heavy-hitting tracks, he's also been involved with the very special artwork for the record.

The label have had a specially commissioned bust of the pioneer made and the statue is a pretty striking way to present the tracks. If anyone in the electro game deserves a piece like that made, it's probably Arnaud.

We've got the premiere of the title track and it goes off like a rocket. It's exactly what you want in an electro ripper, it's got pounding kicks, rugged synth riffs and robotic vocals that ooze dread. It's a mechanical beast that sums up the Rebotini and Zone sound just right.

‘Lex (Craig Richards Magic Carpet Remix)’ opens with the type of skipping, metallic sprung percussion that always goes down a storm as morning becomes afternoon in fabric, before the introduction of a moody bassline sets the track down a more sinister road with eerie chords, piercing background screeches and crunching percussive textures.

Wenn aus Spaß Ernst wird...

Aus einem Scherz entstand eine viel beachtete Aktion. Beim gemeinsamen Hören eines Sets kam die Frage auf: "Sach ma... Wieviele Versionen jibtet von dem Song eijentlich noch..?" Die Antwort war: "Wees ick ooch nich, aba stell da ma vor, die würdet alle in eenem Set jeeben..."

Die Blicke kreuzten sich, die Augen wurden größer... Und einen Monat später wurde das Set geboren. Von jemanden, der das Lied auch heiß und innig liebt, an dieser Stelle jedoch nicht namentlich genannt werden möchte. Allerdings werden wir von diesem Versprechen entbunden, sollte das Set jemals mehr als 1500 Plays erhalten (Für jede Version 100 Plays...) 

Was eigentlich nicht so schwer sein dürfte, denn man muss zugeben, dass das Set tatsächlich auch über den Spaßfaktor hinaus musikalischen Unterhaltungswert hat und technisch allererste Sahne ist.

Ihr glaubt das nicht. Dann probiert es aus. Aber Achtung, wer dieses Set komplett durchhört, wird sobald nicht mehr mit dem Pfeifen aufhören...

UPDATE: 1500 in 24 h.... Ihr seid alle verrückt :-)
