Charles Champagne was the singer for The Champagne Brothers, a South Louisiana and Southeast Texas band, who recorded and played from the 50's to early '70's. This is an awesome 2011 recording of some of the very same classic Swamp Pop, Rock and Roll, and R&B songs the band played in those years. This is Charles' first and only solo recordings released to date. The featured cuts; It's Raining, Stranger To You, and Chickawawa were all originally produced by the legendary "Crazy Cajun", Huey P. Meaux, in the early 1960's, and recorded at his Sugar Hill Studios in Houston, Texas. Here and now, the songs are brought back to life with heart-felt performances from Charles and some of Houston's best session players. Engineered by Paul Cox at 226 Studios in The Heights, Texas. This is the real deal, and a true gem!
