Songs I'm working on

I've decided to do some home recordings of some of my originals, so got an audio interface and this was my first song. Got lots to learn about the software and recording process, but it was really fun to try. Will probable do a batch of songs very roughly to learn, and then will revisit them all to re-record once I know what I'm doing. It's really fun!

Been working on the piano and feel like I'm getting somewhere. May be a bit slow, not sure...

So made some more progress on this one. Slight modification to the piano in the 2nd part of the Verse and me ending. Still not sure about the one bridge/interlude but will leave it for now and see how it feels when playing live. Some lazy singing and piano mistakes, human.

First Logic recording of "Under My Skin". My piano is slightly out of tune so I'm using a midi keyboard which is difficult in terms of dynamics, but will have to do until I get the piano tuned. Played around with an upright bass sound, and one of Logic's plugins for the electronic sound. Lots that could be improved but I'm trying to just get a basic version of each song down, with a view to hopefully coming back to do them justice.

22 June 2019 104921 Rolled The Dice Piano

Switched the lyrics around from "rise and fall" to "fall and rise" at someone's suggestion. Need to put in some proper piano. Might add some simple percussion at some point but going to leave it at this for now. I enjoyed some of the quiet harmonies. I also like the discordant harmony near the end, and all out of tune vocals ;-)

At the end of a late night jam Andre introduced me to this song, so we decided to try it. Recorded on iPhone. First time playing it together, and a bit of an extended version to give Andre some space to work his beautiful magic. With a bit of work on the vocals and piano I think we could do a good version.
