Skinny Love

This is a track that Stevie Blanco and I worked on a few months ago but never quite finished.  I had to add the tenor sax solo on it and never got around to it.  But now I did! Hey guys! I took a little break from working on my two albums and decided to do a simple little video to a song that I've been vibing to lately.  "City of God" is about being on the bottom in life and all of the struggles that come with it. God is all around us but sometimes it doesn't feel like it.  Maybe you can relate.

Zeds Dead & Greta Svabo Bech - Shut Up And Sing (SAX REMIX)

This is me playing my alto saxophone to Jeremih's "Planes."  The first time I heard this song, I knew it would sound pretty rad with saxophone, so I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out.

On this song, the saxophone represents the crazy, uncontrolled and uncontrollable feeling that comes with love: feeling like you can conquer the world and no one can stop you.  That's why I played it a little harder and added some growls, to add that edge, the boldness of love.  

However, the singing freestyle that I added in is meant to counterbalance that confidence, both musically and emotionally.  The singing is so soft and light, because it represents the other side: self doubt, hoping that the feeling of love is returned.  The phrase "Say yeah" is constantly repeated throughout the song because those doubts are always there, beneath the surface, and finally reveal themselves at the end of the song.  

Maybe all of this is hard to understand. Maybe I'm crazy about love, but these are the things that went through my mind while recording this song, and (I think) I'm pleased with how the song turned out as a whole.

This is me, charlez360, singing and playing alto sax to a little remix that I arranged to Kelly Rowland's "Motivation" featuring Lil Wayne. 

This remix was born out of pure instrumental admiration.  At the end of this song, the producer added a couple bars that feature a little synth/electric guitar melody that I'm absolutely obsessed with.  So I looped it and freestyled a little verse and of course had to have the sax on a sexy song like this.  I hope you enjoy, let me know what think.

When I Was Your Man

Hey guys! This is my latest EP "A.S.M.R" which features me singing and playing tenor saxophone to some lo-fi hip-hop vibes.

I wrote this EP during quarantine last year. I had a lot of time on my hands. A lot of time to sit and think. And to chill. And get in touch with my deeper, inner feelings.  This EP represents my chiller, more introspective moments.

I originally intended this project to aid the listener in late night study sessions.  Or if you're a night owl like me, this is the perfect music to hang out to.

Hey guys! I know I’ve been working on a lot of original music lately (sorry not sorry?) but that doesn’t mean I forgot about the dope ass sax covers! 😜

This song randomly came on my Spotify today as I was doing some things around the house and I thought..what would this sound like on sax? So I just picked up my sax and started jamming to it.
