When I was two years old I was found lying in a wooden wine box in the tall grass by the side of a country road, and taken to live the abandoned castle with the others. I soon outgrew the box and chose instead an old grand piano which I learned to play by day and slept under by night. I was allowed to explore the castle at my own leisure, but there was one room which I was strictly forbidden – the attic was out of bounds.

The castle was a magical place, and there was plenty to discover, so we followed the instruction to keep out of the attic without much trouble. But one day curiosity proved too much and we nervously  climbed the stairs and pushed at the door.

It was unlocked and it opened easily.

The room was empty except for an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. These songs are what is left from those tapes.
