A roughneck is a troublemaker who gets in physical altercations and doesn't display good manners at times. In this song, Seth Anthony displays his thoughts on how the general norm of a roughneck is to not fall in love. Throughout the song Anthony has flashbacks out some sort in the way that a special woman moves and her appearance that made him change his ways and allow for his feelings to transpire. 

The beginning of the song starts with Seth Anthony describing what he was like before he met this woman that he now has emotional & physical attraction to. At one line in the song, Anthony refers to himself as “Romeo” to articulate how he was feeling about this lady. He speaks about the transformation and what he used to be like before meeting this girl. The second verse has a hint of a more country rap where he speaks of his woman cooking for him and then refers to them together like “bonnie & clyde”.
