Moving Forward

Over the years Mauk, formerly known by his stage name "Charlie Mizza", has earned a strong reputation as a producer. In 2008, Mauk's production skills broke through to land what was before thought impossible - a local act (701 KLIK) getting airplay on the regional Top 40 station, Y94. Shortly thereafter, Mauk landed a production deal with The Lost Angel Crew, a Latino Hip Hop group co-signed under Cypress Hill's new label, Latin Thug Records, and Ill Ego Entertainment. He has also produced many other tracks for various artists. His former grouo, 701 KLIK had gained much success, having opened for Bone Thugs N Harmony, MIMS, DAY 26, and various other groups, and continued to get spins on the radio. But like a lot of other groups, musical directions/talents differed, resentments grew, and the group dissolved. Mauk then emerged into the industry as a solo artist...

Since going solo Mauk had hit the stage along side Blueprint, Young Jeezy, MIMS, Freddie Gibbs, Bone THugs N Harmony, and others and his fanbase and popularity continues to grow. Mauk's "Always Free, Little King" LP is a deep look into the mind of a man jaded and fullfilled from a life full of 'ups and downs'. The music at times pulls the listener into a dreamlike theater of imagination, and Mauk's lyrics poetically objectify the emotion of the music. The album can be found on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Pandora Radio, Best Buy, as well as many other online music stores. The album features D12's Bizarre, The Lost Angel Crew, Ken-C, Coolie, Philly Kidd, and many other artists. "The album took me about a year to complete. I wanted it to be a perfect reflection of my struggles and triumphs from the start of my life until now". Charles Ryan Mauk is currently working on new projects as well. Aside from being a 'black-belt' beat maker, and producing his own music, he even produces his own professional music videos. "Happy Family", "Falling Down", "Daydreamin" ft. Ali Rae, and "One Day" are just a few examples of his work. 
"I didn't want it to be that way, but when you're trying to reach your dreams, sometimes people and their agendas get in the way. I've even reached out to video producers with cash in hand, but cuz they're cool with other artists that don't wanna see me shine, they gave me the run around. As far as beats, its just something i caught on to quickly. I think it's an advantage too cuz that way I can complement my lyrics my way, rather than having to fit a concept to a certain beat or whatever. And it's cool cuz now I'm getting paid for beats."
