New Zealand electronic artist BAYNK shares the story behind his first-ever SoundCloud upload (2015’s “Sundae”) and how a promoter discovered the track, a chance SoundCloud encounter that marked a pivotal turning point in his career. Fast forward to today, BAYNK has gone on to earn a GRAMMY nomination for his 2022 debut album, ‘ADOLESCENCE,’ as well as headline sold-out shows and collaborate with the likes of Tinashe and Cosmo’s Midnight. Ahead of his sophomore album, ‘SENESCENCE,’ we spoke with BAYNK to learn more about the making of his new record, his release strategy and how he uses SoundCloud to discover new music.

Following the conclusion of the show's tour and with Joe's blessing, it was developed into a fully-fledged track in its own right, inspired by the classic disco output of labels such as Salsoul Records and Philadelphia International.
