Last week I had the pleasure to play at Munich's Radio 80000 for the OYE Records takeover. Inside a lot of dirty analogue sounds and a travel through wave, electro and synth pop. You'll hear also some unreleased tracks of mine, my friends and a collab jam. I'll try to add a tracklist in a free moment. Big thanks to the OYE Crew for having me <3

OYE Records Takeover w/ Charlie @ Radio 80000

This week we welcome the Berlin-born Polish DJ & Producer Charlie, she is an active member of the underground dance scene in Krakow. Known for her event series SZUM with unique and diverse Line Ups, she also caters to Krakow's visual art scene as the Co-director of the project space "Elementarz dla mieszkańców miast" being honoured this year as the most original and influential art initiatives in town. Locally she appeared many times at Krakow's influential Unsound Festival, Warsaw's Jasna 1 club and just recently delivered a Live performance at this year's Up To Date Festival with a complex analogue set up. As an expert of Krakow's local scene, she presented some of the city's insights at this year's online panel at Sonar Festival. 

Residing in Krakow for nearly a decade now, Charlie's second home is Berlin; where she played at legendary locations like Griesmühle, About Blank and Tresor being part of club-nights for labels as STAUB, SYNOID and Mechatronica. The latter released her latest track on the AID II compilation, which came out just after her debut release "picky picnic" on Warsaw's label DOM TROJGA via Ransom Note in September. Her work is internationally acknowledged playing clubs such as Kaiku (Helsinki), Closer (Kiev), La Machine in Paris, Salon Des Amateurs and her US-debut last year at the End Festival playing alongside Suzanne Cianni, and others during Detroit Movement followed by another visit in North America at Mexico's YUYU club. In addition, Charlie also held several workshops including the workshop on Native Instruments "Maschine" featured by Crack Magazine.  

Be on the lookout for her first 7” solo release on Feery Lane Records which you can expect somewhere early next year, She will also participate in the Gravity Network project( which is postponed due to COVID, but finally happening soon ) and be sure to keep an eye out for this modular stunner’s Live shows at Unsound which she is working on right now. For now, as always…

He is a founding member of the Huit Etoiles that pioneered the nu-disco style in Japan while he boasts releases on labels like To Rack & Ruin, Roam Recordings, and others. With a curious desire to explore new frontiers within the music community he's also positioned himself as a founding force in a number of other creative projects. His event brand Voyage Events has brought unique live shows and DJ sets to cities across the UK, working with artists like HAAi, Zaltan, Om Unit, Moxie, Mehmet Aslan, Sofia Kourtesis and Daniel Avery to name a few. Locally grown talent is on deck for today as we welcome SPF 50 aka Stephan Kimbel Olso a fellow New Yorker and stalwart fixture of the scene. Through his residency at the Bob & Shirley party series, and running Professional Music, his sound and curation are always near. 

Today’s premiere of ‘Grove Map’ is a delightfully twisted affair, as undulating synths create an auditory wormhole surrounding the listener as soaring pads beckon and beckon forth, welcoming listeners to another world. Or as the label states, ‘named after The Grove, a stage deep in the woods at New York's Sustain-Release festival, where portals have long been known to be opened.’

Grove Map, and in turn the rest of the ‘Social Life’ EP will be released on March 17th by Bliss Point, a local label, no stranger to Delayed, whom we’re always listening to closely for forward thinking releases.

Charlie is a DJ and musician firmly on the rise, a worthy ascendency for someone who has been hard at work for many years. 

Originally born in Berlin, she now resides in Krakow, the city that she’s been running her party Szum from for the last three and a half years. The party takes place at different locations around the city, including arguably one of Krakow's most forward thinking nightclubs Szpitalna 1, and has seen Charlie book live acts from the likes of Martial Canterel, Novo Line, Not Waving, Tolouse Low Trax and June to join her and other local selectors. Charlie is someone we expect to see big things from in the future and this mix is a perfect representation of why. 

We're happy to host this mix from her, recorded only on vinyl and consisting of predominantly old trance records played at 33RPM. Strap in and enjoy the ride...

This is my LIVE - Set I have prepared for K.O.D, a collective formed by @pitti_schmitti and @Kovvalsky that supports Italo Disco, played alongside @franz-scala and @kinzo-chrome.

Please consider everything was played live, tuned live and a lot of passages were played in freely with my hands on the keys. Shaky moments and mistakes are the outcome of the thrill of the unknown ;)

UV Podcast 086 - Charlie

This little track is my debut release I am sharing to the world. I have made it entirely on one of my favorite and also first synths: The Juno 60. All the sequences are triggered from Ableton using the Juno"s arpeggiator and the range of three octaves. It's simple way of creation is immediately hearable. Usually I like to complicate things in the studio and use as much gear as possible, so no synth feels left out. This leads to a big detune and headache, then I go back to Picky Picnic reminding myself "Less might be more" :D

Eltron's Dom Trojga imprint shares a sentiment about this year that will ring true with many: "despite it all, it was music that kept us going, that held us together while we were apart, that lit our hope, that coloured our days."
