We have another sonic delight for you (including track list), this time from Heliopora.

Heliopora is an artist whose name brings to mind sun, deep sea, and coral reefs, brings us an aquatic sound journey inspired by his diving experiences and long record of mixing out in nature. Co-Founder of Melifera Records, a French-based record label and events organiser, his music seeps a life lived between the blue coast and the foothills of the Alps.

Heavily influenced by dub techno, this ambient-esque set in particular evokes those moments when you enter into a new world filled with deep blue hues, the rays of light glistening through, shining onto the fish, algae and anemone surrounding you. It recreates those tangible moments as your head goes under water, the sound around you changes, and the salt prickles your skin.

Over the years, Zemög kept the sound while adding personal field recordings, modular personality and experimentation, eventually cultivating a blend of intuitive design with technical value. His musical progression allowed him to get closer to unknown sonorous passages, offering him his main artistic and spiritual inspiration.

He is a sonic explorer and vinyl collector who is known to constantly push the threshold when it comes to sound design and tone manipulation. He has been an active DJ since 2012 with residency in several clubs in his hometown Pereira and has played with several well known international artists. As composer he made his officially debut in 2019 on From a Lost Place label with ‘Vuoto EP’, followed by releases on Ordinamento Selettivo, Circular Limited, the italian label Different Exhibition where he was remixed by Claudio PRC, and his last production focused on ambient in Huinali. Also have worked on other VA colaborations and remixes around the globe.

His project is deeply inspired by mountain ecosystems and indigenous cultural and musical environments composing Ambient, Deep Techno, Tribal and Dub taking as a sound source modular synthesis, field recordings and aboriginal meditation instruments. His mixes and original work very often shows organic minimalism, tribalism and deep environments representing the beauty of meditation and mental expansion.

He is also co-founder and visual artist of Matteria, a collective that makes electronic music events in Pereira, Colombia.

RON L is part of Embodiment, an organization that focusses on different spectrums of electronic music and is originally based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. For the past few get-togethers they set foot in Amsterdam to further explore the Dutch scene and to inspire the participants with a challenging sound.

With this recording RON L wanted to translate the past and the present into a set. DJ-ing for over 5 years he came in contact with several styles within electronic music and RON L thought this was a great moment to dig deeper into his music collection to create a trip down memory lane to build an emotional bond with the audience while also remaining in the present using some recent releases.

A place in thinner heights, far away from pretentious society and its toxic consequences. Shallow waters lie below, surrounded by jagged rocks, with only the starry sky above. In its purity, this refuge invites to connect with the universe and contemplate about its secrets and deeper truths. It is Henrii Havaas’ music that resounds from all the mountain ridges.

Henrii travels in the space between ambient, techno and euphoric soundscapes, drawing upon a seductive fusion of groovy rhythms, cheeky cuts, hypnotic elements and deep atmospheres. Influenced by meditative journeys, she experiences DJing as painting with sounds. Her musical images have mesmerized numerous people at such big and important happenings as Boom, Ozora, Monument and others. She is also involved in the realisation of Soria Gathering, a festival for human development and hypnotic crafts high up on the Lofoten Islands.

Her mix is a soft and deep encounter with minimalist and playful psychedelic sounds, that oscillate between shimmering spheres full of illumination and gloomy chasms, that drift into the dark.

This month, I’m especially excited to introduce our guest: Mateo Hurtado. 
We met at the Termini Obscuri festival, where I had the honor of playing just before him. From the very beginning, we connected through our shared passion for hypnotic and deep music.  

The set Mateo has prepared for this episode is truly a journey. Defined by his unique style, it’s a blend of deep, spiraling sounds with an almost esoteric touch. A soundscape that invites introspection, perfectly reflecting the approaching winter mood.  

As always, this podcast aims to explore diverse atmospheres and moods, capturing the emotions and feelings that flow through our lives and the world around us. This set is a perfect example—an immersive musical experience that elevates both listening and imagination.

Mateo Hurtado creates hypnotic techno and experimental music. Inspired by the surrealist movement, obscure symbolism and ritualistic incantations, his music seeks to invoke the hidden, impossible images buried in the unconscious.

Be it as a DJ, live performer or producer, his intuitive approach seeks to overcome conventional boundaries of the genre, sending the listener on an ever spiralling journey through polyrhythmic drumwork imbued with otherworldly melodies and dronelike, shifting atmospheric soundscapes.

He has released on labels like Annulled Music, Secuencias Temporales, Space Drum Meditation and Accents Records among others.

Revelation of Sound is pleased to present Phonolis. Based out of Southern California, Keith Craig, aka Phonolis, has been a steadfast purveyor of the deeper side of techno for the past seven years.

Embarking on his musical voyage in the heart of 80s nightclubs in the early 2000s, Phonolis, cut his teeth spinning indie disco and electroclash tunes; playing for high energy dancefloors with a different type of sound that other local DJs in his hometown weren’t accustomed to at that time. A true disciple of the rave culture since 1998, Phonolis has traversed to iconic party scenes of Los Angeles, Detroit, Miami, London, Amsterdam, and Berlin, taking in a kaleidoscope of sounds and sensations each city has to offer.

In 2020, Phonolis set out on a new sonic odyssey, delving deep into the hypnotic realms of techno. Over the years he has become a purveyor of the genre, captivating audiences with magnetic sets with a penchant for weaving intricate rhythms and atmospheric textures. As he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music, Phonolis remains steadfast in his pursuit to collect and present the highest quality of tunes, while being a beacon of creativity and innovation, leaving an indelible mark on his local dance music community.
