This May will see Kerri Chandler’s MadTech records offer up the ‘MadTech 02 - Ibiza’ compilation, comprising twenty-six tracks from some of the most hotly tipped acts in contemporary electronic music.

The MadTech imprint has been running since 2012 and can boast material from the likes of Citizen, South London Ordnance, Applebottom and Josh Butler across its catalogue, here its A&R prowess is once again on radiant display as the label continues it’s compilation series following the success of MadTech 01. This time round the imprint delivers a weighty collection of hard-hitting house cuts with ‘MadTech 02 - Ibiza’ ahead of the impending Ibiza season.

The compilation welcomes some driving forces in house music at present with the likes of Josh Butler, Alexis Raphael, Leftwing & Kody, Cera Alba, Max Chapman, Celsius and Jonny Cade delivering exclusive content. In typical MadTech fashion the label has caught onto some promising up and comers early to boot, namely Black Girl/White Girl, Howson’s Groove, Simba and Cristoph.

This compilation also allows MadTech to shed light on some additional rising talents outside of its core release schedule with further offerings coming from Human Life, Bontan, Luvstuff, Third Son, Ten Story, Rich Wakley and many more.

This is the final instalment of the decade mixes. But this time it's a little bit different.

This is the decade that turned us into what we are now. This mix is effectively our condensed dance music bible (believe it or not, there are lots of tunes we couldn't fit in). The mix is done in the same style in which we remember our clubbing experiences. Most notably, The Bang Gang parties every Friday night in Sydney. Those guys were a HUGE part of why we became DJ's in the first place. This mix will, for better or worse, dig up a few dance-floor 'moments' for anyone who took part in the madness. 

So many of these songs are classics to us, and probably are to many others too. It's hard to hear these songs without cracking a smile and remembering a great time of irresponsibility. 

You won't find too many mixtapes in this style anymore. And certainly not from us. But we had to show what this decade was all about to us, and how it brought us to what we do today.  

We're dedicating this mix to our belated friend and mentor, Ajax. He's had more influence on this final chapter than anyone will ever know.

Thanks to everyone who got behind these mixes. It's been a long ride.

MaxNRG -- Hide Away My Heart / Danger Zone

Ukrainian drum and bass pioneer MaxNRG signed to Technique Recordings last year, and instantly proved his credentials to the UK scene. His debut EP, "Prometheus", showed off a melodic sensibility that provides an ideal counterpoint to his tough beats and basslines, resulting in heavy radio and rave rotation. So, time to show off more of this flavour.

And that flavour, as MaxNRG has already proved, has a lot to do with melody, which is at the top of the agenda for "Hide Away My Heart". A sing-along refrain and cleverly interweaving riffs create the calm before the firestorm of the drop. An, proving the flexibility of this style, on top of the D&B mix, there's a selection of other delivery systems for the payload. A Radio Mix, an Instrumental Mix, a savage Dubstep Mix and even a electro-plosive House Mix, proving that, whatever your flavour, MaxNRG's style can get you hyped.

This flavour's all about melody, but that's not the end of the story. "Danger Zone" flips the musicality into another dimension. Now, it's deployed to create an unsettling horror-movie landscape, populated by tormented samples, before filtered beats and a gravelly bassline slowly move into view. On the face of it, this is a simple, if dark-hued roller, but as the tune progresses, sounds become modulated beyond your wildest expectations to draw you further into this paradigm.

If you don't know about MaxNRG yet, then you'd better not miss out on this release. In these two tracks, he's shown that his style can encompass both the light and the darkness, making his
output vital parts of any selector's armoury.
