A few weeks ago, I came across Soichi Terada’s “Untitled” while listening to a Floating Points set on The Lot Radio. The track grabbed me immediately with its raw groove and stripped-down character.
Terada, a historic and incredibly talented Japanese composer, originally released the piece only on wax, which are rare to find (no surprise a music collector like Floating Points has one!). I re-played part of it myself to work on this version. The idea wasn’t to reinvent anything, just to make a personal tribute to a track I connected with and wanted to bring into my own sets.
