Premiere: B1 - ISH - Humans & Robots [AOP009]

Animals on Psychedelics welcomes Swiss/Tunisian producer Ish for its 9th release, with another suitably lysergic 3 track EP. 

A1 kicks off with vintage Sci-fi mind exploration samples and quickly evolves into a pulsating and accelerated acid trance rumpus, with the sample weaving its way around the tracks main goan filtered synths and throbbing bass, for a perfect, reflective end of night closer.

Still keeping things pacey and sci-fi, B1 guides us into more traditional trance territory, with lighter 808 kick drums and a progressive arpeggiated synth line that links up with his paranoid friend half way through for some machine talk , before metallic bass and electric guitar mates comes barging in to abruptly end all chat.

B2 continues the trip and lands us on an unexplored planet deep in the outer universe. Pensive, melancholic and breaksy IDM frequencies transmit through our vessels radio, whilst a woman reminds us that we still have our 'Body's' as we float in space.

This time round we have a double announcement to make. 
Here at Seven Hills we are joining forces with our esteemed friend Bobby. over at Pleasure Club to roll out a brand new collaborative series: Seven Pleasures. We’ll be bringing you the best from both with a run of seven sinfully good releases to ignite the senses. 
First up on Part 1 we have Omar and Bobby. in cahoots on the A side representing the Pleasure Club camp; their heavyweight offerings make dynamic synth lines and shrewdly stripped back breaks the focus. Whilst on the Seven Hills flip, we have our friend, beat conjurer and mastering artiste Thee J Johanz, with his tracks flaunting the perfect measure of carefully crafted hypnotism and harmony.

The Berlin based producer showcase his skills with 4 tracks and cover a large spectrum from a dark and powerfull vibe to a brighter atmosphere. 
The EP in opening with the aptly named Da3m0ns a track that will spare no one on the dancefloor thanks to his heavy kickdrum and creepy vocals. The A2, Ones-And-Zer0es (ft. Mr. Murray) can be the soundtrack of a futuristic ride in full speed. It contains an acid baseline and beautiful chords.
On the flip, the tone is a bit brighter, A1 3L Ff1n would be for sure very effective for the sunrise when you want to keep the party going ! V1ew-S0urce is closing the EP with a track containing a strong breakbeat and a touch of IDM. With beautifull arpeggios and a very specific voice treatment, this track highlights the versatility and the skills of Ish. This is a producer you have to watch out !

Two worlds collide in number nine from OPIA Records as they welcome on board Orbital London maestro Jack Michael, and BODY MVMT ambassador, Robert James for the ‘Salt & Shake’ EP. The UK pair join forces for two collaboration tracks, receiving remixes from two of Uruguay’s finest, Michelle and Fede Lijtmaer. 

Opener ‘Pleasure Beach’ is a dynamic dance floor assault, subtly organ led through a storm of rough and ready sounds, a familiar energy from the OPIA label, pushing club ready material in a discerning fashion. Providing her ‘Pepsi Max Mix’ is live performer, and label affiliate Michelle. A slightly more progressive take on the original, ready to make an impact. 

With more snap than a Paul Hollywood shortbread is the B1 ‘Great British Break Off’. A rollercoaster of intensity, intelligently arranged by the dynamite duo. Clean broken drums complimenting the sub heavy bass. Delivering the final track of the EP is Fede Lijtmaer remixing the B1. A classy outing from the South American, a spiralling trip through beeps and bleeps.

Kicking-off the EP is the retro futurism of ‘Don E = Dark O’ - a melancholic, chiaroscuro-esque house-meets-techno track harking back to a bygone era of rave. The A2 ‘Fool Circle’ shifts gears into the afterhours with an infectious, metallic groove. On the flip, aquatic-deep techno cut ‘Sea Sex Librarian’ dubs things out with trippy vocals and a booming round baseline. Rounding out the EP, ‘Get Outta 84’ conjures cinematic dystopia with deep electro-infused breaks.

ISH, also known as Kind Des Geistes, is a Swiss-Tunisian DJ, producer, live performer, and New Media artist based in Berlin. He is signed to labels such as Animals on Psychedelics, Libertine Records, Small Moves, Nashville House Syndicate, Griffé, and Partisan, among others, showcasing his unclassifiable and ever-evolving artistic style.

Ismael Zouaoui spends his days crafting intricate electronic music in his Berlin studio. His creative process involves incorporating complex drum patterns, diverse sampling techniques, and multiple layers and textures. Exploring sounds and ideas from different eras, his music is characterized by its contemporary, playful, distorted, 3-dimensional, fat, and clean qualities.

Ismael’s DJ sets are influenced by electronic music from the 80’s, 90’s, and early 00’s, as well as by the contemporary work of his friends. In his DJ sets as well as in his live sets as ISH, audiences can expect the unexpected, depending on when and where he’s playing: his sets range from floating ambient to up-tempo rave sounds.

In addition to his DJ and production ventures, Ismael, under the alias "Kind des Geistes," performs live and presents A/V live shows. This particular project revolves around brainwaves, where the music is played live by his brain, and the visuals are based on the visualization of the brainwaves. 

He is the Label owner of Holographic Universe as well as co curating the Experimental Music Events Aether along Gwenan and Eli Vervein.
