sit down and have a cup of coffee of two
already feeling pretty low no need to watch no news

sometime last Tuesday around four o'clock
i kicked the neighbor's dog for pissing on my truck
could see him through the window
so come out and kicked him in the head
forgot i had on my steel toed boots and kicked the fucker dead

momma begged me to stop by the church and talk to the reverend
ain't no time with these guitar pickin hands

this past Friday i put a possum in my buddies car
needless to say he didn't make it real far
after they sifted through the wreckage and blew off the soot
there was a barbequed possum attached to my dead buddy's foot

an old lady got in my face because i called her a whore
reached in her purse but before you could know
i knocked her flat on her back and gave her the People's Elbow

Sings To A Silent River [naviarhaiku437]

One more EDM dance song examining what happens when we die lol.
Oy, this one was really tough. I have such a hard time with words. I guess by now, half the population doesn't even know what 't-tops' are anymore! The vocal is really out of my range, and transposing was nearly impossible but I did drop it down all I could without being in the mud then i did what i could do vocal wise. The demo I used to practice was kind of fun I might post that later...

Ah, those hot summer nights when it felt alright
Seems like yesterday
With a bottle of booze and your platform shoes
Off to dance the night way

And you ride through town with the t-tops down
And the wind blowing fast and cool
And you’re revved up hot in the parking lot

Music’s loud in this lively crowd
She's dancing around the room
With the strangers you know and the friends that you don’t
Then you just turn around and they’re all gone

Where do the dancers go, when they’re not dancing anymore
Where do the dancers go when their feet aren’t on the dance floor
To the underground? To the atmosphere?
Do you stay around, do you disappear
To the great unknown, where the wild winds blow,
It’s a short ride here but a long way home

Now you lie in bed the music in your head
but you can't go back to long ago

when the dance is done and the lights come on
We all need a place to shed our skin
Place like home just to rest our bones till the night comes ‘round again
