Born and raised in Lithuania, Benita developed an interest in music from an early age and experimented with a wide variety of music genres - from classical to avant-garde. She studied jazz performing arts in the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she had a chance to gain a deeper understanding of music theory and performance. However, after getting involved in the local rave scene as a photographer, Benita decided to experiment with electronic music - first on an old discontinued Traktor controller bought from a friend, and later in various local studios that offered standard club DJ equipment. Although she started off with a deep appreciation for various hard styles ranging from schranz to uptempo and even speedcore, her debut was scheduled for a rave last June, headlined by Berlin-based melodic techno DJ/producer DOBe. This twist resulted in her search for a sound that would be both melodic and rough, emotional and energetic. The recording of her set resulted in an opportunity to play a closing set in an event for new techno DJs, organized in August by one of the main techno clubs in Lithuania. In her own words - "like many, I started off thinking I'll be dropping the heaviest beats around, but circumstances have lead me towards a slower and more melodic direction, which eventually became my sound, and so far it seems to be working". Currently she is experimenting with the possibilities of music production and in the end of January will be opening a rave headlined by Remco Beekwilder.
