HK SlapZ grew up in East Oakland, CA, surrounded by some of the roughest streets and people. In a place where drug dealers and users often blurred into one, many young people sought a way out—through sports, music, or a quick hustle. Others weren't so fortunate, ending up behind bars or buried in graveyards.
HK SlapZ didn’t have it easy either. Prison became his reality, but from within the belly of the beast, the music grew louder. It became his lifeline—an avenue for expression. Though he rapped back in the day, it was much harder to break through. You had to know somebody who knew somebody. But now, with the mic in his hands, he’s not letting go. This is his voice. His truth. His time.
