Cheap Picasso
After coming together through a mutual love of music almost 7 years ago Adam and Tom started DJ'ing in venues around the capital city before eventually coming together to play b2b sets on a regular basis. This is when the Cheap Picasso project was born. Influenced by a mixture of 80's synth pop, classic house and Techno Cheap Picasso held down various residencies and guest slots around the city before starting their monthly Gasoline Dance Machine parties where they were given the space to explore their musical tastes and hone their skills as DJ's. After putting together a number of edits to play out Cheap Picasso moved into producing their own tracks with there first track "Don't Play Around" being featured on The Magicians infamous Magic Tape series. The E.P was soon picked up by Hamburg House label Jeudi Records and received support from the likes of Amine Edge & Dance, Adana Twins, Tensnake, Doctor Dru and more. Most recently their collaboration with fellow Edinburgh producer Bluford Duck called "All Of That" was released as part of the Toolroom Records Miami Underground Compilation and reached Number 1 in the Beatport chart. This year see's Cheap Picasso move into a slightly different sound from their previous releases with a nod to the darker deeper side of house and techno.

We run a super cool underground dance party in Edinburgh called Gasoline Dance Machine where you can expect a mix of classic italo and straight up boogie music allied with contemporary house and disco... all with a nod to the iconic decade in which disco and synths came together in an almost suffocating hairspray haze.
