It’s a proper chunky show this week, and that’s despite there is not a lot to be getting on with! A delightful PO Box delivery brings a bit of joy into Paul and Eli’s hearts before offering a snack based Off Brand, Brand Off that will task their taste buds. Can Eli tell which is the Nik-Nak and which is the Nik-Nak knock off? The odds are stacked against him. Elsewhere, Paul crafts another deeply weird character that, for a change, Eli becomes incredibly fond of! Is this the beginning of a beautiful new friendship? Meanwhile, behind the scenes, there is trouble brewing and it’s all going to end badly for the Cheap Chaps, they just don’t know it yet! All this and Paul amusing himself to death, enjoy!

Ep 308: Mulchy Fibbage

It’s time for another “Tat Hunt” episode, we think. It’s been too long, that’s for sure. This week, Paul and Eli take to the mean streets of Watford to scour the charity shops for 6 items to bring into next week’s charity shop item face-off! In CheapShow’s history, most of the items discovered in charity shops fall into six categories and it’s up to the Cheap Chaps to rustle them up in a few hours beating the streets. They need to find a Book, a Game, a Toy, some Kitchenware, a Trinket and a Party Album, but time it tight and the weather is awful. Will Paul and Eli discover some amazing bargains or fumble their assignment pathetically? Whatever happens, expect the usual carnage that only CheapShow can deliver!

When the sun is shining this brightly in the London sky, Paul and Eli refuse to stay cooped up inside CheapShow HQ… So, they are out and about (yes again!) to go on an aimless wander through another corner of London. Five years ago, Paul & Eli went for a day trip out to Brighton, to say it didn’t go well may be a bit of an understatement. To celebrate their 10th Birthday, CheapShow is going back again to do it properly… Whatever that means! Paul is determined to truly soak up all the fun of the seaside by being as sober as a judge and Eli has a few ideas in mind for things to do that are all truly awful. What begins as an aimless adventure soon turns into a glorious day out involving swarming seagulls, classic ghost trains, painful beach walking, mini electric train trips, elephant tunnels, “long eggs” and annoying tourists. Ep 442: Another Office Day Trip To Brighton (Stereo Edition)

It was a mistake to record on one of the very hottest days of the year. However, the show must go on, even if involves sitting in a small room as the heat melts Paul & Eli’s brains. Paul does have a plan though! He reckons after a slew of epic length episodes; they can afford to throw out another “real time” 60 minute romp that should make everyone happy. As an extra bonus, because it’s so ruddy sweltering, why not spend the episode drinking nice, cold and hopefully refreshing drinks that have recently come their way? It’s a win/win. Let’s just hope these drinks are worthy of quaffing during a heatwave and aren’t a bunch of cheap, nasty bottles of garbage. And what’s this? A new character? Ep 443: Liquid Curios

The events of last week’s thrilling episode have taken their toll on Paul & Eli this week. They’re so tired out, they forgot to plan something to do and to make things worse, they are not in “the zone”! Thankfully (or not), Eli has something up his sleeve to “enhance” their “performance” and it may end up giving them both a false sense of confidence. If the stuff works at all! It’s a snack packed episode anyway, with the Cheap Chaps munching through hot habanero potato rings, Japanese Kit Kats, Cheesy Takis and a fair few hot sauces too! And finally, after MANY MANY threats to the Coca Cola company, Eli has got his mitts on some Orange Cream flavoured cans! Oh, lucky day! It’s time to get our munch on.

Ep 446: Beware The Mad Monk

After far too much time away, fair-weather co-host Ash Frith re-joins CheapShow just ahead of its 450th episode and what an episode! It’s a nice chunky one that throws Ash in at the deep end straight from the start. They’ve all got a lot to catch up on and it’s been a while since they’ve all been in the House of Sausage and Mash. It all leads to a 40 minute diversion into the sex, drugs and Rock & Roll private lives of comedians from yesteryear! It’s getting censored to F***! After that, it’s time for a classic Price of Shite and, to make things more challenging for our returning guest, Eli’s confidence and ego is off the charts. There is a mix of tat, toys and musical surprises that must be priced rightly and Paul is struggling to juggle his loyalties! One more episode until 450, it’s exciting!

Ep 449: Mumchance

Episode 450 was a big success and Eli and Paul celebrated accordingly. Until they didn’t. Following the live stream party, Paul went way too far with the drinking and is now suffering terribly. This means that the only person driving the podcast this week is Eli, so that means Paul is going to have to suffer through another indignity of Eli’s episode manifesto. As a result, it’s going to be a sauce and snack heavy themed podcast, which maybe isn’t the best course of action for a host who feels deathly ill and nauseous. However, there is one curious note to mention… Does Paul being ill make him a better podcaster? Or is episode going to land near the bottom of “worst episodes ever” lists? We guess you will have to listen to find out!

Once again, the PO Box delivers a cornucopia of crap to CheapShow HQ’s door, and it’s up to Paul and Eli to price it all up… Kinda! Eli is feeling a lot more cocky and confident then usual, and he thinks that he is set for yet another mammoth victory! Summer is nearly over and Paul and Eli do not want to waste a single sunny day, so it’s time for another walkabout episode! This route, as chosen by Eli, is one they’ve been keen to do for a while and now it’s their chance to tackle the length of the New River. The New River is an artificial waterway that opened in 1613 to deliver water in towards London from Hertfordshire. There is no way in hell that the Cheap Chaps will be able to do ALL of it, as its around 20 miles, but they can do a fat chunk of the middle of it! So, join Paul & Eli as they pack up a few snacks and begin weaving their way through North London, arguing, laughing and pontification before throwing in the towel! How far do they get? Will Paul ever be correct in Eli’s eyes? Will the “self-heating” lunch work? Are jokes their forte? It’s all revealed in this epic 150 minute walkabout adventure.

Special Guest: Nick Helm
For some reason, Nick Helm was keen to come back on to the podcast and, well, who are Paul and Eli to deny him the experience of more economy comedy catastrophe? In a more than chunky episode, Nick is subjected to numerous rants, mindless meltdown moments of madness and wade through his fair share of tat. Eli has come prepared with a bag of goodies, and quite possibly the worst joke he’s ever told in the podcast’s history. We genuinely apologise in advance. Ep 455: Helm's Deep

It’s an episode of extremes this week, as Eli and Paul battle through the usual segments whilst trying to deal with a whole host of new annoyances. Jimmy Biscuits and Richard Brandoff are back and trying to capitalise on their glorious return to the podcast. Paul is NOT happy to be dealing with an attic full of old and new CheapShow characters and something has to give. To make things worse, a trip to the Snack Palace reveals a very dark denouement for that particular segment. Two crisps enter, but do ANY of them leave this episode alive? Ep 456: Don't Call It A Comeback

This is not the episode we were expecting to put out! This week SHOULD’VE been a Tat Hunt episode but a technical disaster made it impossible for us to release until the audio was rescued. With a bit of luck, next week we will have the walkabout adventure we were super happy with and sad we may have lost forever! Until then, Paul and Eli had to do something this week, so they dove back into the “recording studio” to somehow pull a new episode out of their arses! Was the effort worth it? Once again, it’s time for Paul and Eli to take to the high streets and venture on another Tat Hunt! This week they’ve taken themselves to Broad Street to see what they can get for £10! It’s an episode that investigates the contents of 5 charity shops to fond the treasure amongst the trash. It’s a surprisingly sunny day and the Cheap Chaps are full of excitement for the challenge is… almost. Along the way, they’ll tackle rude shop customers, unwanted flatulence and struggle to find a decent place to wrap up Part One of this random wander. It’s Part Two where the wheels begin to fall off and their best laid plans begin to crumble!

After the success of last week’s Tat Hunt in Teddington, South London, Paul and Eli are now in search of a place to sit down and review the stuff they’ve purchased! The Cheap Chaps had a budget of £10 to find as much treasure amongst the Charity Shop Trash as possible and now it’s time to evaluate their discoveries. There is one HUGE problem, however. They have no idea where to go to sit down and pour through their items. What begins with a simple plan very quickly devolves into fighting, confusion, impromptu bus journey’s, altercations with security folk, a desperate search for a toilet, and the possibility that they may not have an ending to the episode! Follow Paul and Eli on another, far more aimless than usual, walkabout romp!

It’s CheapShow Live at the Cheerful Earful Podcast Festival…. Again! Paul & Eli are back on stage at The Bedford Pub, Balham for another 90 minutes of chaotic, calamitous fun! Recorded live in front of an unprepared audience, the economy comedy podcast is unleashed once more. Over the next hour and a half, the Cheap Chaps will try to cram in as much CheapShow into 3 minutes as possible, add another dead animal to its collection, resurrect some long lost segments, and slather the guests with charity shop sourced gifts. To end the show, Paul has written a play that attempts to celebrate the podcast’s decade of existence… but something unexplainable and unexpected violently shoves the show into a completely different direction! The poor guests… they didn’t deserve this!

Ep 460: Live At The Cheerful Earful Festival 2025

Now that some BIG episodes of the podcast are behind them, Paul and Eli can now get back to “normal” and get stuck into some delicious “Cheap Eats” and maybe savour a musical oddity or two! They were both gifted with a few wonderful things after the live show, so let’s dive into a box of crazy candy and taste its delights. There are fizzy chocolate bars to nibble, cheesy nuts to munch and odd sour liquids to guzzle down, but will any of it be any good? When it comes to “Silverman’s Platter”, Eli’s brought along a few tracks will hopefully delight, but also completely confound. There are songs from 80s light entertainers, faux vaudeville bands and an odd medical 7” vinyl that, frankly, will get you scratching your head in confusion. So, it seems like just another regular episode of CheapShow doesn’t it? Well, a small row at the top of the show will make the rest of it incredibly one-sided…

Ep 461: 50 Words

Paul threatens to reduce his word count down to 25 words this week, but Eli is desperately having none of it. He just wants a nice, normal episode of CheapShow. But when as CheapShow ever been nice and normal? On this week’s episode, Eli is obsessed with assonance and tongue-twisters for no good reason, a package from New Zealand offers a lot to munch over and Paul has discovered an old board game based on the career of UK comedian/actor Lenny Henry! Thanks to an online website called Sanza, a very kind listener to the podcast has sent CheapShow some tasty treats from New Zealand and there is a LOT to slurp, crunch and guzzle over. How will they go down with Paul and Eli? For a Gannon’s Golden Games segment, Paul has discovered a “stand up comedy” themed board game, but will playing it actually raise any laughs, or will the usual in-fighting ruin the love of the game? As ever, you’ll find out over the next 75 minutes!

Although Paul & Eli have sworn off getting anything from Temu, Ali Express or Wish, that doesn’t stop our listeners! Whether that’s for good or for ill. This week, CheapShow HQ has been sent something via the PO Box (details below) and its jam packed with Ali Express (and charity shop) treats and, in some cases, horrors. Not only do the Cheap Chaps have a few awesome presents to be grateful for (thank you Obie!), but there is an Ali Express themed “Price of Shite” to tackle. When the items can be truly random and the prices could be anything, just how many p’twings can Paul and Eli hope to get? Ep 464: Quaffle

Sometimes on CheapShow, things can get TOO exciting at times. This week is probably not one of those times as Paul and Eli put “thick white sliced bread” to the Off Brand/Brand Off test! Four loaves of supermarket basic white bread will be chewed and reviewed by self-proclaimed supertaster, Eli J Silverman! Which will come out on top – the name brand leader or the budget supermarket equivalent? The results may surprise you… But probably won’t. As Christmas once again looms on the horizon, Paul orders the “Grinch” McDonald’s meal to see what makes it so “grinched”. Will it just be a load of green coloured food? Probably, but at least it comes with free Grinch socks! As the year winds itself down, CheapShow marches forward!

It’s Paul and Eli’s final walkabout episode of 2025 and they’ve decided to tackle the Hillingdon Trail which will take them into areas that they are very much not prepared for! In this two and bit hour epic adventure, the CheapShow chaps will attempt to traverse about 10 miles of northwest London in what may turn out to be their most trying ramble to date. They’ll have to deal with going in the wrong direction, complicated diversions, wet weather, a woodland ghost, pitch black paths, deeply muddy routes & unsure endings. That sounds like it’s going to be another awesome CheapShow walkabout episode, doesn’t it? As Christmas begins to roll in, allow Gannon & Silverman into your ears for a special yuletide quest! Ep 466: Into The Woods (Mono)

As 2025 prepares its end, Paul and Eli turn their attention to the big yuletide knees up… The Office Christmas Party! For their 7th boozy do, Paul wants to do something a little different, at least to start! They head out to a little village pub and get a few drinks in early, before attempting to get back to “La Maison Hantee Sur La Colline A Harrow” for the party proper. To make things a little more classy than usual, Gannon’s hired a (very expensive) Butler to serve the drinks and snacks. Although “Jarvis” seems lovely enough, Eli is horribly embarrassed by Paul’s bullying treatment of the poor old man! It’s the epic (near 3 hour!!) final episode of the year packed with dodgy booze, weird Xmas themed snacks, trivia stuffed Christmas Crackers, a few boxes full of amazing presents, rants, arguments, laughs and a healthy dose of scatological nonsense! Get cosy, turn on your Christmas Tree lights and join Paul & Eli for their mammoth Office Christmas Party 2025!!

Ep 467: The 7th Annual Office Christmas Party

It’s a NEW YEAR and time for a NEW(ish) episode of CheapShow to see in 2026! So that Paul can take another week off from editing (poor tired lamb!), we’re dipping into our Patreon pocket and pulling out a podcast usually reserved for our supporters! As is custom for our “first episode of the year”, it’s time to enjoy another Nightbussin’ adventure as Paul and Eli venture into more nocturnal night bus nonsense. This week, the route is the N89 that starts in Erith, far east of London, and in towards Trafalgar Square over a staggering 21 miles! It’s the longest night bus in London and is also the route you basically have to leave London to start. As ever with Nightbussin’ it’s about whether or not Paul and Eli can get to the starting point in time and without having a meltdown. Once the journey begins, it’s all in real time, so soak up the night time ambience, take a seat at the front on the top deck and join the cheap chaps on another Nightbussin’ romp!
