TERNION SOUND (LIVE SET) @ DEF: THE BOILER

On July 23rd at 4am on the Evol Chicago Electric Forest Official Afterstage I performed to over 3000 incredibly energetic Forest folk. I had such an incredible experience with the crowd that I was in tears by the end of the set. I promised that night that I would upload the set so everyone could enjoy it. Most of the songs are edits I made specifically for the night or new unreleased originals. Here it is minus 2 songs that I will be releasing in the very near future. Its hard to relive a moment like that...but if you could  put yourself in the mindset of 4am on a perfect 70 degree night with a huge Henney sound rig blasting crystal clear audio to a festival of like minded individuals who had been kept away from each other for over 2 years because of the covid epidemic. The feeling in the air was pure magic.

Forging her own path as a first generation American of Zimbabwe heritage, Rita Mucavele, more widely recognized under her stage name of CANVAS, encompasses music in her very DNA. Currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia, CANVAS still honors her core roots of rhythm and rhyme, applying her culture to significant aspects of modern-day bass music and using her sound as a vehicle for powerful change.

Using music as a constant outlet, even her artist moniker holds weight to it, intentionally demonstrating the influential nature of the artist-fan relationship. In silence, time can be seen as a blank slate, but, when interpreted by the listener, the moment becomes something new entirely; a canvas rife with radical self-expression and meaning. No two moments, songs, or performances are the same, all painted uniquely by the individuals within the specific experience."

Inner Loops: The EP title alludes to the cyclical nature of human thought patterns and emotions. Our lives are cataloged by continual themes of self-discovery & acceptance, the dance of light & darkness, time, untapped potential, and angst.

Machine Learning is a concept EP that could redefine dubstep and bass music. AI is dominating the news agenda and changing our day-to-day existence with every passing moment. We constantly hear use cases of AI imitating humans, but what about a human re-imagining AI? 

With Machine Learning, ENiGMA Dubz is the human within the machine - engineering and creating dubstep music as if he was an AI entity becoming more intelligent with every passing week until sentience is realised, yet every element of the composition is man made. 

Across the four tracks from ‘Week 1’ to ‘Week 4’, and enticing atmospheric interludes, the audio experience becomes more complex, with recurring themes, sounds and melodic passages being interwoven within the AI’s consciousness - all underpinned by customary ENiGMA Dubz bass pressure and production prowess at 140 bpm.
