Acclaimed DJ, producer and label boss Riva Starr is excited to announce the first release from his brand-new imprint, Brock Wild, entitled ‘The Wickedest Sound’ EP. 
 
Riva Starr has always been respected by fans and fellow tastemakers for his ambitiousness and creativity in his productions. Just look at his back catalogue, ranging from Hip-Hop tinted tracks with UK titan Roots Manuva to regular collaborations with House legend Green Velvet, and you’ll see experimentation sits at the core of Riva and his other aliases.
 
Now, the Italian-Born London-based DJ/producer has founded Brock Wild, an imprint that specifically provides a platform to share left-field/bass heavy sounds, Riva explains: 

​​'I’ve always been fond of left-field beats and big bass, therefore due to my eclectic taste and past background as a Hip Hop, Dub, Drum & Bass and Breakbeat DJ I've now decided to launch a new SNATCH! sub-label called BROCK WILD that'll be devoted to these type of sounds.'  

The EP’s title-named track, ‘The Wickedest Sound’, kicks things off, serving up a free flowing, groove-laden cut that seamlessly blends elements of House, Hip-Hop and Breakbeat, encompassing; an abundance of lo-fi Rasta-esque vocal samples, ferocious synth blasts and an excellent use of dub-style effects.

It’s almost Christmas time and here, at elrow Music, we want to start the celebration with a big comeback to our releases ranks. Label boss and tech-house honcho De La Swing is back with a three tracker EP of two originals and one high rolling remix, by the one and only Mathias Kaden. ‘Everyday EP’ opens up with the title track, ‘Everyday (Original Mix)’, a track with a steady but soft percussion, a hip-hopish vocal line that sings about love, and a nice 90’s infused melody by the middle of the track, with an overall vibe that everyone associates with elrow and its parties. Then we have ‘Creeper (Original Mix)’, that opens with a swifter percussion and starts in full energy thanks to that exotic vocal line we hear in the back of the track. With FX coming and going, the synth treatment De La Swing uses is just mind-blowing and will make the crowd lose it in the middle of the dancefloor, making this carnivalesque track perfect for the busiest times in the dancefloor. Finally, closing the EP, we have Mathias Kaden’s remix of De La Swing’s ‘Everyday (Mathias Kaden’s Repitch Remix)’, in which the German producer twist the original track with a steadier and faster vibe, a bit harder, also distorting and playing with the vocal line and keeping the melodies, making it a more playful tune and fitter for peak times in the floor. Resuming, one huge delivery by the label boss De La Swing, that showcases his great moment, and an amazing re-interpretation by Kaden, who has perfectly understood what elrow Music’s line is all about. After an excellent performance at Drumcode Festival, Tiger Stripes comes strong with his first EP on the label since 2009.

Since 2015 Tiger Stripes has been an invaluable contributor to Drumcode’s ‘little brother’ Truesoul. As recent as March he released ‘Sound of the Bettest’ in collaboration with Riva Starr, their fresh raggainfluenced take on techno entrenched as a 2018 highlight for the label. Drawing from a wide palette of sounds to craft his groovy, personality-laden take on techno, the Swede has produced arguably his finest work yet with the ‘Insanity’ EP. ‘Baby’ is a melting pot of three decades worth of influences, from James Brown, to Northern Soul and indie pop of Ariel Pink.

The result is a stunning kaleidoscopic techno treat, that brims with rave, garage and funky house spirit. ‘Insane’ is a dynamic feast for the eardrums as trippy arpeggios, a persistent vocal and lush synth leads cascade throughout the seven-minute track. ‘Too Deep (to Bear) follows, an exhilarating slice of late-night techno before the EP concludes with ‘Dying Planet’, mixing up a potent environmental message with tough dancefloor functionalism.
