My set from solstice festival is up on the cloud. 

Solstice is a unique festival happening in the northernmost tip of Finland. Since it’s so far out of civilisation (9 hours drive from Helsinki), the people who choose to attend are actually making the effort to travel that far and are purely there for the music & nature.

At this time of year, the sun in Lapland is never going down... the stage was up on a mountain giving a glowing northern view. I got the dance floor from Ajukaja & Ats who played a live set around 120 bpm and took it from there. It felt like playing at a club but it was at the open wide - probably the absolute perfect settings for me.

I've never been one to record my live sets, but this time I wanted to try and capture the essence of the moment. You can never fully recreate it, but you can feel its energy. I made sure to include the sounds of the room, the raving crowd, and even some funny insights at the end of the set 🙃

Thanks Joni, Denzel, Justus, Daniel and Andy for crafting it all, you are true pros! And to Gabrielle for holding my hand and making your birthday celebration in the woods one to remember! Lastly, thanks Yonti for joining me in purchasing this recorder just days before the festival :)

@sedefadasi's style is impossible to pin down. Embarking on her sonic journey, she fearlessly navigates her craft through a multifaceted universe of rhythms and genres, captivating dance floors with her everlasting groove and electrifying embrace. The best place to experience this rollercoaster is her own monthly HAMAM party at City club in Augsburg where she has invited plenty of international guests to join her. The Turkey-born, Germany-based artist is also a resident at Blitz Music Club and is set to join us at Dekmantel Selectors later in the summer, but first comes this week's podcast. 

It launches in seductive fashion with the moonlit deep house of Chicagoan Ben 'Cosmo' D then cruises through smooth but punchy grooves that stay low and bring hints of old-school cool in the basslines, stabs and drum breaks. Adasi's shift through the gears is almost imperceptible here as the pace quickens and the drums grow more physical. That is a testament to not only her smart selections but also to her ability to thread together these sounds quite so seamlessly.

Bassiani 9 hours 😱 live mix to kick off 2o25 💕💕

I’m releasing a ‘shorter’ version inc. room recording out of my 11h set from the legendary Horoom. For so many reasons it was one of my most joyful / meaningful sets I played in 2024. It was a Hydrash collective queer celebration started with a ball, a freestyle voguing dance session and a performance that led to my all-night-long set. For the entire 11h there was a true sense of togetherness and the energy was beautiful. I hope this energy comes through in the recording 👂✨ 

With a bitter taste, it all happened under the shadow of a new anti-LGBTQIA laws which a right-wing government had been preparing and fully enacted just two months later. These laws effectively criminalize being openly gay and label anything related to LGBTQIA+ identities as propaganda. The government as well prevents the freedom of the Georgian people to join the EU and using unlawful tactics to control the population will, including aggression and arresting of protestors. 

Tbilisi’s dance music scene has long been a powerful driver of change. Today, the club community is taking a stand, going on strike, and protesting in the streets. How can we support them?
