Sound walks, as a protest action, as disagreement with the policy of the Russian Federation and the war that Putin began to wage in Ukraine on February 24/2022. Anti-war sound walks take place in the protest places of St. Petersburg. Inside these walks, the voices of people speaking out against the war come to life. Recordings of the sounds of different pickets are attached to different points of the route laid through the protest places of the city. Recorded protests are songs, sounds, poetry, slogans, prayers, discourses. This project makes the protest of St. Petersburg alive and audible, this protest cannot be dispersed, it continues to grow and makes the voices of the protesters possible.

Anti-war sound walks

Located on the southernmost point of Oaxaca state in the region of Mazunte... ‘Punta Cometa’ (‘Comet Point’), extends as a steep cliff into the Pacific ocean. Below the cliffs, driven by winds of several directions, waves roll and crash in dramatic cascades beneath the cliffs.

Protest meeting against the war in Ukraine, Russia, St. Petersburg, February 2022, Gostiny Dvor

We have high hopes that 2024 will be a good year for owls in Uppland. Last night I set up the droprig to hopefully record a resident Great Grey Owl in Nåsten. I was not successful but had an excellent night despite this. The Ural Owls called through the night and also mated. In this recording you can first hear the male and in the end both the male and female with their courtship calls. During the night I also had Pygmy Owl, Tawny Owl and Eagle Owl on my recordings, so a good night overall!

Every morning, at 9 o'clock, from August 30, 2023 to September 8, 2023, I was in different parts of Kirkenes to record the sound of the ferry coming from Tromsø. I found out that the ferry always sounds different, sometimes lower, sometimes higher, from different places in the city, also it can be heard differently - sometimes it blends in with the surroundings and sometimes it comes to the foreground.

From dusk to dawn with two pairs of cranes and one or two single male contenders. In this recording you will hear almost infrasound (80-200 Hz) growls and heavy panting as the males chase each other in the wetland and of course the trumpeting of cranes through the night. An amazing experience to be this close. Huddunge, Uppsala. April 9, 2024.
