Dream Weapons present: SEVEN SUTRAS C60 ☾

Art has its triptychs, religion has its trinities and Prabha Devi has finally finished the unholy collection of three Sevens. In the very early days of Dream Weapons, Seven Daemons was released. Seven Rays came along a little later, and now finally the penultimate chapter is complete: Seven Sutras.

Though a Sutra is more of poetic roots, the name sounded evocative and fit with the overall theme of "exotic oriental" that runs through the spine of the mix, delving sideways into some Brazilian girl groups and even Mauritius rock. Largely instrumental, but collected to be listened to as a whole album, turn it on during an extra dull winter day and let it brighten up the living room for an hour at least -Prabha Devi

في ظلمات الجسد الملتهمة، تتحرك الألوان مثقلةً بعبء الراحة المتزايدة والجشع المادي. تنبثق الكلمات لتتحدث وتتوسّل من أجل الوحدة: من أجل الاندماج، من أجل الامتزاج. يسعى النور لأن يشتعل من جديد، متوسّلًا العون.

تصير آلات الترومبون وسائط للسفر عبر هذا النور، حاملةً تقنية غنائية جديدة مستوحاه من الباروك داخل غلاف ذهبي، في فعل يضخّ الأمل باستخدام لونين رمزيّين: الأخضر والبنفسجي. هذان اللونان يرمزان إلى مشاعر إنسانية طواها النسيان منذ زمن بعيد.

تحمل الأغنية عنوان الرقصة الداخلية للبطن، وقد كُتبت أيضًا بالإيطالية، وُلدت من شغف عبد الله منياوي بهذه اللغة والقرابة الإلهية التي تربطها بدانتي. إنها رحلة سماوية افتراضية تبدأ من الداخل؛ فطريق الأنبياء ينشأ من الهمسة الداخلية للّون، من صوت خافت. وتُعد هذه الأغنية الإسهام الثاني باللغة الإيطالية بعد قصيدة "بياتريتشي" التي كتبها وأدّاها "ميناوي" في ألبومه السابق أنيجم النجم.

يبلغ المشروع ذروته في كورال مؤلف من هويات صوتية مختلفة لبنانية ومصرية وفرنسية، يخترق حدود اللغة، ويُنتج وحدة صوتية نبحث عنها في أيامنا هذه، بعيدًا عن أقفاص الإنترنت وتعقيدات الهوية.

Within the devouring darkness of the body, colors stir burdened by the growing weight of comfort and material greed. Words emerge to speak and plead for unity: for fusion, for intermingling. Light seeks to ignite once more, begging for help.

Trombones become vessels of travel through this light, embedding a new vocal technique inspired from baroque within a golden shell an act that pumps hope into the use of two symbolic colors: green and violet. These hues signify long-forgotten human emotions.

The song is titled Internal Belly Dance and in Italian, too born of the Miniawy's passion for the language and the divine kinship it shares with Dante. This is a hypothetical celestial journey that begins from within. The path of the prophets originates internally from the whisper of color, from a faint voice. To be the second contribution in Italian language after Beatrice poem written and performed by Miniawy released in his previous album Nigma Enigma.

The project culminates in a choir composed of Lebanese, Egyptian, and French voices, breaking through the boundaries of language and creating a sonic unity that we search for in our modern days far from internet cages, and identities complex.
