B-girl Wonda is from Southern Calif. and grew up listening to artists like James Brown. She was always around hip hop and had brothers who would "pop" and "break," she says. Dancing has always been a passion for Kena. Here is an edited version of an interview I did with her last year.

B-girl Lacy Keiko Omon is from Southern Calif. and is affiliated with the Stylistic Kings and Soul to Soul crews. During her interview, b-girl Keiko talks about her passion for breaking, her knowledge on the history of hip hop and her goals as a b-girl.

I recently accepted a position as a media producer at Stanbridge College's Media & Communications Department. I was previously a visual journalist for the Los Angeles Times and worked in the newspaper industry as a visual journalist for 9 years. 

My ongoing personal projects include a portrait series and audio interviews with female breakdancers (b-girls) and producing a short video about Kena "Wonda" Prado, a b-girl who competes in several breakdance competitions in Southern California. 

My passion for visual storytelling has taken me to San Francisco Bay Area, Minneapolis, Minn., Cleveland, Ohio, West Palm Beach, Fla., Miami, Chicago and Southern California. I have worked in the newspaper industry since 2006, working at the following newspapers: The Oakland Tribune, Star Tribune, Plain Dealer, Palm Beach Post, Miami Herald and Chicago Tribune. I was also selected for Poynter Institute's Summer Fellowship Program in 2008, a six-week intensive course, where recent graduates produced and edited multimedia pieces in St. Petersburg, Fla.

My published work has also appeared in the Wall St. Journal, Orange County Register, Press-Enterprise, Los Angeles Newspaper Group (LANG), and the Los Angeles Times Community News. I am a Bay Area native that graduated with a bachelor arts degree in journalism and minor in marketing in May 2007.

I currently reside in Anaheim, Calif. and available for freelance work anywhere in the US.
