Hip Hop R&B singer Chevy J (aka Sharveal Johnson) hailing from Chicago is about to add his swagger and soulful sound to the world. Chevy J born to 14 year old single mother and raised by his Great Grandmother was instantly deemed a natural born entertainer. It all started at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist church where Chevy realized that he was a performer, while stunning the crowds with his soulful swagger .This singer, rapper, actor, model and inspirational writer credits his inspiration to never giving up “Seeing others give up on their dreams inspires me to keep pushing to achieve mine, said Chevy J. Growing up Chevy J had the choice to enhance his basketball or music career, while good at both Chevy J made the decision even after receiving promising offers from basketball to move forward with his commitment to his music. “I want my fans to remember the struggle I went through to get where I’m going in my career. I want them to remember the pain, be inspired to keep moving forward in whatever they want to achieve in life,” said Chevy J. Moving forward with his music career has proved to be the right move for Chevy J. Chevy J has opened up for E-40, featured in Macy Grey’s “Smoke Two Joints” video and Gwen Stefani’s “Settle Down” video. After moving to Miami, FL Chevy J’s first single, “Bout It Booty Bangle Berry” (2009) exploded on the internet. The single instantly received more than 5,000 hits on social media in the first week alone. The single “Bout It Booty Bangle Berry” sold more than 10,000 copies. Following the success of the single, Chevy J was offered a record deal from Atlantic Records but after strong consideration finishing high school was a bigger priority for Chevy J and his family. Chevy J knew this was the validation that he could take on the music business, he just wanted everything to be in place …the right place. Currently Chevy J has just wrapped up working on his first solo EP entitled “Moving Forward,” set to be released at the top of 2015.
