My first experiment graduating from Garageband to Ableton Live...  I decided to cover of one of my favorite singer-songwriters: Fink. All you drummers and bass players and sound engineers, yes, I know there are many "mistakes", but I am still learning! :-)

All vocals, synths, drum&bass programming, and rudimentary mixing done by yours truly (me :-) )

Although I am living a very happy time in my life, the illnesses of the soul are a recurring theme in what I end up creating. 
Everything in this recording was created on the spot without rehearsal or planning - aside from the panning I did on the tracks, there is no editing. I used Ableton's looping function to create the basic background loop upon which I layered several tracks of improvisation.

Something sacred has been lost [sss-sick]

Julia Radschiner and Mario Amiro came to visit us at Circlesinging Roma. Last night we ended up conversing, sharing, and experimenting until 3 o'clock in the morning. We played a game by which we took turns saying words, then weaving them into sentences.  The resulting sentences were so beautiful that we were inspired to take it further and use them in creating a musical improvisation together. We decided to use them in experimenting with this prompt. We first created an imperfect loop, which served as the backdrop to which we improvised the rest - recording contemporaneously. Warning: There will be peaks in volume! (Them prompt does ask us to explore dynamics!)

Each moment ticks effortlessly until it expires.
Beware of wooden awareness.
Trees are friends without borders. 
The past shows reflections within.
Did spontaneous singing affect mankind?
Silence speaks louder than the lion's roar.
Stories told by the elders are passed onto the wind.
Leaves trickle down with time into the abyss. 
Darkness reveals known secrets of the true soul.
Believe that words create manifestations of significance.
