Stand - Chiara Filomeni

Permanent was born a few years ago. It’s one of the very first songs I’ve written.

A year ago I decided to let Simone Baù - aka OUHNO - listen to it, describing what it meant to me.
I told my anger about people who make compromise for fame and success, then I explained the reasonableness expressed by the bridge - written later.
Simone decides to work on it, because immediately impressed by the meaning of the words and the melody.

From that moment we worked on the production, building around the initial harmony a world made of modernity and tradition, playing with electronic sounds, without forgetting the beauty of the piano - played by Daniel Michalek - that in the bridge becomes the protagonist, making space between the synths .

This song is angry, but it’s also full of reflection; this song is a journey, and deserved an explanation.

Thank you OUHNO for helping me to create the first of a long series of tracks that we’ll release with the same care and desire, without forgetting the calls, your visit to London in the recording studio of my University LCCM, the details always protagonists of our mix, and the happiness of listening to the final version of the song.

I grew up with my grandmother's fairy tales, with Pavarotti singing "Vincerò" in my grandfather's car, with the Italian songwriters filling the silence of the house, with my dad singing “One song, I have but one song” with me pretending to be Snow White, with my mom asking me to whistle from inside the baby cot when I couldn't even speak.
I discovered that I wanted to dedicate my life to music a long time ago, but I became aware of it only recently. My turning point was the decision to leave Italy, to live in London and study music, no longer treating it as a mere pastime. My wealth now is writing my own songs, is in putting into music everything that I have learned, that I dream of and in which I deeply believe.
