about tamayura
The faint sound that occurs when "magatama" touch each other.
An ancient word that means "just for a while”
"a moment" or "faint”. ( the beautiful scene of Sange which I saw at a memorial serrvice in my child hood. This scene war also included in the concept.)
In this piece, the meaning of "moment " is adopted.
"tamavura phenomenon” is a light ball (orb) like a small water drop that is mainly reflected in photographs.
When | express light rays ; fluctuations, and - particles, a contrabass Fl. was added to give a range of tones.

about orizuru :
I wanted to express my silent prayer by composing this piece that is inspired by Orizuru(an origami crane) which is the symbol of peace for Japanese people.
As the technique to compose, I created the complex rhythms by digital signal processing the sound of folding Orizuru.
These rhythms are inorganic seemingly, however, two percussionists give an emotion to the rhythms, and the piece is playing with delicate and bold expressions.
I hope to share the piece as to identify the “gesture of prayer” with the state of players being immersed into their performance.

about "No one can be found whence the melodies ended  On upper river verdant peaks silently stand" :
I received a request from the chef of the succession percussion group to compose a piece with "湘霊鼓瑟 Musical Soul of the Xiang River“ as a theme.
I focused on “曲終人不見 江上數峰青 No one can be found whence the melodies ended  On upper river verdant peaks silently stand” which is a phrase that ends this poem. I thought to develop the appearance of the sound that will be unfold at the end of this poetic world, in other word, the appearance of the sound of Se (an ancient Chinese plucked zither) has finished and trace into the state where nothing has gone, as a temporal structure of the piece.
As a technical idea on composition, first, a sentence “No one can be found once the melody ended  On the upper river verdant peaks silently stand” in Chinese and Japanese were recorded, the waveforms were cut up for each segment and reverse processing was carried out respectively.
Next, the sound materials made by south processing was arranged in the order of Japanese then Chinese while inverting the sentence of the poem.
Finally, the score was generated by forcibly converting MIDI (through the pitch in waveforms) from the sequences by the audio files.
These attempts means a bird’s eye flow when the 銭起 Qian Qi poetry is passed through more than ten centuries then the phrase which translated in Japanese is heard to me who lives in the present, and also, going back from the present to the past mediated by the phrase “No one can be found whence the melodies ended  On upper river verdant peaks silently stand”.
