I started working on this in 2019 shortly after I was divorced. I wanted it to be part of a twelve track album about my feelings and experiences. At the time I was in a polyamorous relationship with some friends I met over discord. without getting into any details, they were not pleasant to be around, but I guess that'll happen when you're freshly broken and sad and alone.
 the bright point during that point was the trip out to Nebraska to see family that my sister and I took. I got to get away from my abusive partners for a little bit and listen to audio books and drive across the Midwest for hours and hours and hours. it was so much fun, and I wanted this song to be a kind of monument to that point in my life. 
things were bad. but things were going to be ok. 
and now they are.
