These two brothers, originally from Nijmegen but now based in Amsterdam, share not only a bloodline but also a profound passion for music. Fortunately, we are fortunate enough to possess a flawlessly mixed recording where they guide us on a mesmerizing musical journey. What’s up Musty lovers! With the UK weather dropping some serious celsius, we thought we’d bring the heat with our next instalment. 

Don’t be shocked if this is the first time you’re coming across Lourenzo, who by his own admission is a man of mystery. Hailing from Curitiba, one of Brazil’s most lively scenes and the city he learned his craft as both DJ and collector. However, it’s obvious he draws upon a number of influences throughout his music.

When he’s not making music, you’ll find Lourenzo selling records or on the bill at some of Brazil’s hottest venues either behind the decks or running events - everything this man does is for the music.

We think it’s also important to mention the YouTube channel he runs, ‘Motion Blür’ where you can discover a whole host of digs from his vast personal collection.

Alex Albrecht returns with Aurora - a pristine followup to his Blue Caves transmission via Scissor and Thread in 2018. 

The Melbourne based composer and sound designer Albrecht has leans into his predilection for woozy, affecting melodies intertwined with skittering drums and snaking grooves, and Aurora brings that to the fore with six tracks of shimmering beauty. 

Spring Orchard opens the record, effortlessly merging deeply buried keys with washes of dreamlike synths, and dubby effects. 
Wildflower Walk is a melancholic affair, underpinned with a restless groove. 
The title track Aurora treads a similar path, but with a more driving approach, while an interplay between piano, guitar, and synths drenched in reverb offer a warm, enveloping atmosphere. 


Aurora is also shared here as a remix by Roza Terenzi, who entirely reworks the track with her signature club ready grooves . 

Kennett River exhibits a kind of smudged, cinematic hip hop feel, while closing track Morning Piazza showcases Albrecht’s sense of drama and pacing, producing a sublime ending to this deeply affecting collection.

Correlation" is a piece that explores the invisible links between the elements of the universe, the subtle and complex connections that shape the reality we perceive. Inspired by the mysteries of the cosmos and fragments of unexplored worlds, I wanted to create a composition that reflected the interplay between opposing forces: the calm and the storm, the static and the dynamic, the known and the unknown. The idea behind 'Correlation' came from thinking about how everything is interconnected, like lines of energy running through space and time. I sought to translate these abstract concepts into an immersive musical experience, where each sound and motif responds to and intertwines with one another, creating a complex and haunting soundtrack.

The piece is built around a hypnotic rhythm that acts like a pulse, a cosmic heartbeat, around which revolve repetitive, haunting atmospheres. My intention was to transport the listener into a dimension where sensations mingle, where the boundary between the material and the immaterial disappears to make way for a purely sensory experience. "Correlation" is both soaring and energetic, designed to maintain a constant tension between moments of anxious meditative tranquillity and more intense passages. It's an invitation to plunge into the unknown, to feel the echoes of the forces that govern the universe and to surrender to the dance of the energies that surround us.
